- Space and height: Compare the footprint and height configuration with your legroom. An inflatable model’s ability to change height may help with fit, but it does not ensure the airline will permit it.

Check your airline’s rules before packing one
Airline policies are not universal, and a product review or manufacturer listing is not evidence that a carrier permits a device. Check the current policy for the airline operating your flight, including any connecting segments on a different carrier. Ask the airline if the wording is unclear, seek crew approval when required, and follow crew instructions.
Jetstar Airways (JQ)
Jetstar’s cited passenger comfort-device guidance applies to JQ domestic and international flights. It says inflatable cubes are the only passenger comfort devices permitted, subject to cabin-crew approval, and specifically says leg hammocks cannot be used. Check Jetstar’s comfort-device guidance. This is Jetstar’s policy, not a rule for all airlines.

TUI
TUI says passengers cannot attach items to tray tables or seats, and lists flight hammocks and inflatable footrests among devices that cannot be used on its flights. Read TUI’s FAQ about flight hammocks and inflatable bed platforms. This restriction should not be generalized to other carriers.

As a separate example, not one of the three picks above, Vive Health lists its Xtra-Comfort Inflatable Travel Foot Rest (product number CSH1053BLK) as 18 × 16 × 16 inches when inflated. The manufacturer specifies PVC with polyester flocking and says it comes with a manual pump and storage pouch. It advises travelers to check with their airline because rules vary.
