Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs topped the most recent named top-ten list in the sources here, based on Instacart customers’ Easter-candy purchases in 2024. The ranking was reported by Martha Stewart in April 2025; it is a dated, platform-specific list—not a universal or 2026 consensus ranking.
The 10 most popular Easter candies in the US
These are the products in Martha Stewart’s report of Instacart customer purchases during Easter 2024, in the order reported. The list reflects that dataset and period; it should not be read as a ranking of taste, nutrition, value, or nationwide market share.
- Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs — The leading item in Instacart’s reported 2024 purchase ranking.
- Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups — A familiar peanut-butter-and-chocolate choice that appears in the list alongside the seasonal egg.
- Cadbury Chocolate Mini Eggs — Small chocolate eggs, a seasonal format suited to sharing or adding to baskets.
- Hershey’s Milk Chocolate — A standard milk-chocolate option in the reported top ten.
- Cadbury Creme Eggs — A filled chocolate egg from Cadbury.
- Sour Patch Kids — A gummy candy among the chocolate-heavy entries.
- Lindt Milk Chocolate Bunny — A chocolate bunny, a traditional Easter shape.
- Starburst Jelly Beans — A jelly-bean option in the top ten.
- Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Candy Eggs — Another chocolate-egg format.
- Kinder Chocolate Candy Egg With Toy Inside — A chocolate egg paired with a toy.
Martha Stewart’s report notes that preferences vary by region. It also reports that Peeps did not make the national top ten, despite weekend purchase increases in Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. The report’s finding that 58% of Americans were excited about new seasonal-treat options is separate from the product ranking; it does not indicate that 58% bought any particular candy.
What newer Easter data says—and what it does not
Later sources use different measures, so they do not confirm the exact order of the 2024 Instacart list. They offer useful context, but a category-sales ranking, a purchase-intention survey, and delivery-platform orders answer different questions.

Kroger-affiliated category sales and purchase plans
84.51° / Kroger Precision Marketing’s 2026 Consumer Digest reports that chocolate eggs and assorted chocolates led its Fiscal 2025 Easter candy categories, followed by chocolate bunnies, jellybeans, Easter gummy candies, and marshmallow candies. These are broad categories, not a ranking of ten named products.
The same digest reports a January 2026 84.51° Real Time Insights Survey of 283 households planning to buy Easter candy. Among respondents, 68% planned to buy chocolate eggs and assorted chocolates, 63% planned to buy chocolate bunnies, and 51% planned to buy jellybeans. The sample came from people who had shopped at Kroger in the preceding three months. These are reported purchase plans from that survey, not observed nationwide sales shares.
Rank #2
- Festive Assorted Chocolate Variety - Enjoy a colorful mix of individually wrapped chocolate candies in vibrant Easter foils and seasonal designs. This assortment adds a bright, festive touch to candy bowls, dessert tables, gift baskets, and holiday displays while offering a delicious chocolate treat in every piece.
DoorDash ordering trends
DoorDash’s March 10, 2026 report analyzes Easter orders from April 7–20, 2025. It names Reese’s Pieces as its nationwide number-one item and says Reese’s Peanut Butter Bunnies ranked first in 35 states. Those are DoorDash ordering findings; the state result is not a national sales share, and the platform ranking is not directly comparable to retail purchase data. For its holiday-weekend spikes, DoorDash compares Easter-day orders with orders during the prior three months.
