The 10 Most Expensive Shark Tank Deals—and What the Evidence Shows About Their Results

Reported figures identify Zipz, Vengo and RoboBurger as large Shark Tank deals, but they do not establish a complete top-ten ranking or how much investors earned.

A televised Shark Tank offer is not the same as a completed investment, and a company’s revenue is not a Shark’s profit. The available reporting supports three large-deal examples—Zipz, Vengo and RoboBurger—but does not verify a complete top-ten ranking or the current results of ten businesses. Here is what those reported figures do, and do not, establish.

Why a definitive top 10 cannot be established here

The available evidence does not provide the full ranking implied by “the 10 most expensive Shark Tank deals.” A partial excerpt about large deals notes that the biggest offers have not necessarily produced the most profitable businesses, but it does not give a complete list or enough financial detail to rank ten companies. The partial excerpt also names LARQ and Bombas as successful businesses without supplying comparable deal or return figures.

That matters because “expensive” can refer to the amount offered, the amount ultimately invested, or the value implied by an equity percentage. Those are not interchangeable. An on-air offer can change or fail to close, and debt, equity and royalties have different economics. Company revenue, valuation, acquisition price and money actually returned to an investor are also distinct measures.

Three reported large deals and what is known afterward

A Shark Tank Blog recap, updated September 2, 2025, reports the terms and business outcomes below. These are secondary-source figures, not independently verified transaction records. Read the recap.

Company Reported offer Reported subsequent outcome What the figures establish
Zipz $2.5 million for 10% equity; the recap says the deal was contingent on Costco placement. The recap says Zipz exited the wine business in 2016 and shifted toward licensing its packaging technology. The reported offer is not proof of a completed investment or of a realized investor return.
Vengo $2 million structured as a 7% loan plus 3% equity, with repayment over 36 months. The recap reports $15 million in annual revenue as of 2024. Revenue does not show profit, whether the loan was repaid, or how much an investor earned.
RoboBurger $1.5 million for 9% equity, as listed in the recap’s comparison table. The recap reports $1.4 million revenue in 2023 and says the business added breakfast sandwiches and plant-based burgers. The reported revenue is a company-level figure, not evidence of profit or investor proceeds.

Why the biggest offer may not be the biggest success

An offer is not necessarily a closed deal

Deal terms announced on television may be subject to due diligence and can change or fall apart afterward. A ranking based only on what was said in the Tank can therefore count offers that never became investments.

Loan and equity terms are different

Vengo’s reported structure combines a loan and an equity stake. The loan component involves repayment terms; equity depends on the company’s value and any eventual liquidity event. Treating the entire $2 million as a straightforward equity purchase would misstate the reported arrangement.

Revenue is not investor return

Annual revenue says how much a business brings in from sales over a period. It does not reveal expenses, profit, cash available for distributions, the value of an investor’s stake, or proceeds from a sale. The reported Vengo and RoboBurger figures cannot by themselves answer how much a Shark “made.”

Doorbot and Ring: a prominent offer that should not count as a Shark investment

Doorbot, later known as Ring, illustrates the difference between a televised offer and a completed deal. A 2024 excerpt says founder Jamie Siminoff left the show without accepting Kevin O’Leary’s offer. It also reports that Amazon later acquired Ring in a deal estimated at $1 billion; that estimate is not established here as the final transaction value. See the excerpt. Ring’s later acquisition should not be described as a return on a Shark Tank investment by O’Leary.
