The figures below are the article’s reported estimates, not independently confirmed 2022 prices.
How to read the ranking
The list is an editorial ranking by Eric Lyons at The Most Expensive, not a documented census with a consistent method for comparing every buffet worldwide. Its reported amounts mix breakfasts, brunches and dinners. The article gives no precise publication date or price-check date, so its figures should be treated as historical claims associated with the title’s 2022 scope—not as current rates.
Most importantly, the first two entries are hotel breakfasts. The article says Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos’ breakfast is restricted to resort guests and uses the room rate to describe the effective cost of the experience; it similarly says Zemi Beach House breakfast is included for guests and points to the room cost. Those lodging figures are not buffet ticket prices, so the top of the list is not a like-for-like ranking of meal admission prices.

Below, room-rate estimates are kept separate from meal prices. The article’s price claims lack a clearly established capture date; they are not independently verified 2022 prices.

What current venue information can—and cannot—confirm
20 Knots at Zemi Beach House
Hilton’s current 20 Knots page lists a daily breakfast buffet at $65 USD per person and says prices are subject to 13% GST and an 18% service charge. That is present-day page information, not the ranking’s historical room-cost calculation or proof of a 2022 price. The distinction matters: a guest’s room-inclusive experience and a separately listed per-person buffet price answer different questions.
Saffron at Atlantis, The Palm
Atlantis describes Saffron as its largest buffet, with more than 220 dishes and 20 live cooking stations. Its current page lists daily breakfast at AED 180 per adult and AED 90 per child ages 4–11. Those current breakfast prices are not the same meal as the ranking’s roughly $120–$135 brunch estimate, and they should not be substituted for it. See Atlantis’s Saffron page.

Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace
In a May 7, 2021 reopening announcement, Caesars Entertainment said Bacchanal opened in September 2012 and described its food as prepared daily across nine interactive kitchens. The company wrote that the buffet offers “elevated global cuisine made fresh daily” in “nine open interactive kitchens.” That corporate description supports the venue’s positioning, not the ranking’s historical meal prices. To decide which buffet is actually most expensive for a diner, compare the same kind of charge under the same conditions. A room-inclusive breakfast should not be ranked against a standalone dinner ticket as if both numbers bought the same thing.

- Separate meal admission from lodging. Use the buffet’s per-person price when available; show any required hotel stay separately rather than calling the room rate a buffet price.
- Match the meal period. Breakfast, brunch and dinner can have different menus and prices. Compare like with like.
- Use a common price date. Menu rates change. A dated historical estimate and a current official listing should not be presented as simultaneous prices.
- Account for currency and charges. Preserve the original currency, state the conversion date if converting, and check whether taxes or service charges are additional.
- Check who can dine. Guest-only access can make the real cost of a meal different from a public restaurant’s walk-in buffet price.
On that basis, the ranking is useful as a list of high-end buffet experiences the article selected, but it does not establish one definitive answer to “What is the most expensive buffet?” Its first two places depend on hotel-cost logic, and the other entries do not all provide a consistently dated, meal-matched comparison.
