Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days ran October 7–8, 2025. HotHardware’s roundup listed ten graphics cards priced from $118.99 to $999.99, but a sale badge did not automatically make each one a good buy. This retrospective compares the cards by gaming resolution, VRAM, features, upgrade value, and practical compatibility. All prices below are historical October 2025 quotes, not live August 2026 offers.

Quick verdict: the deals that made sense

The strongest all-around value in the list was the Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB at its quoted $349.34, provided you wanted mainstream gaming rather than Nvidia-specific software. The Radeon RX 9070 XT at $629.99 was the standout high-performance bargain. Nvidia’s RTX 5060 Ti 16GB was the safer choice for DLSS, ray tracing, CUDA-dependent applications, and creator software. Intel’s Arc B580 was attractive when its $269.99 price stayed close to the B570.

GPU (historical deal) VRAM Best suited to Main caution Verdict
Sparkle ELF Arc A380 — $118.99 6GB Basic gaming, multiple displays, AV1 encoding Not a modern AAA 1440p/4K card; verify Resizable BAR Best cheap display or media card, not a mainstream gaming buy
Sparkle Guardian Arc B570 — $209.99 10GB Budget 1080p and some 1440p B580 is preferable if only modestly more expensive Good budget option at a genuinely lower price
ASRock Arc B580 — $269.99 12GB Strong 1080p and entry 1440p Driver and game compatibility; Resizable BAR required for best results Best low-cost 1440p alternative
XFX Swift RX 9060 XT — $349.34 16GB Longer-term 1080p and mainstream 1440p Less attractive for CUDA-heavy work or if ray tracing is your priority Best mainstream value in the list
Sapphire Pulse RX 9070 — $569.99 16GB High-refresh 1440p and entry 4K Compare directly with RTX 5070 features and pricing Strong 1440p choice when priced below Nvidia alternatives
PowerColor Hellhound RX 9070 XT — $629.99 16GB Demanding 1440p and capable 4K Check board power, size, and recommended PSU Best high-performance AMD bargain
Gigabyte RTX 5060 Ti — $419.99 16GB GDDR7 1080p, moderate 1440p, Nvidia creator workloads RX 9060 XT 16GB may deliver similar gaming speed for less Best Nvidia mid-range option
PNY Epic-X RTX 5070 — $559.99 12GB High-refresh 1440p and entry 4K RX 9070 offers 16GB and can be stronger in rasterized games Feature-rich, but price-sensitive
Asus SFF-Ready RTX 5070 Ti — $749.99 16GB High-end 1440p and 4K “SFF-ready” does not guarantee fit in every small case Strong Nvidia high-end option if dimensions work
Gigabyte Windforce RTX 5080 — $999.99 16GB Maximum performance from this group and 4K gaming High cost, power draw, and diminishing value Fastest listed card, not the best bargain for most buyers

HotHardware supplied the prices and advertised discount percentages in its October 8, 2025 article; those “was” prices were listing references, not an independent guarantee of savings. See the original list at HotHardware.

Which cards were actually worth buying?

Best mainstream longevity: Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB

At $349.34, the 16GB RX 9060 XT balanced capacity and price better than most of the roundup. Sixteen gigabytes gives more room for high-resolution textures and newer games than an 8GB model, while the card remains aimed at 1080p and mainstream 1440p rather than expensive 4K hardware. HotHardware described it as outperforming the RTX 4060 Ti and RX 7700 XT in its cited comparisons; those are editorial comparisons, not a universal benchmark result. Compare the exact XFX board’s cooler, dimensions, connectors, and warranty with the competing RTX 5060 Ti family.

Best high-performance value: Radeon RX 9070 XT

The $629.99 RX 9070 XT was the most compelling step up for demanding 1440p or entry-level 4K. HotHardware compared it favorably with the RTX 5070 Ti at a lower quoted price. That advantage depends on game, settings, ray tracing, upscaling, and current market prices, so treat it as a price-sensitive judgment. Check the Hellhound model’s length, slot thickness, power connectors, and PSU recommendation before ordering.

Best Nvidia choice: GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB

The $419.99 16GB RTX 5060 Ti was HotHardware’s likely Nvidia best buy. It targets 1080p and many 1440p games and adds DLSS, frame-generation support, strong ray-tracing options, and broad CUDA/application compatibility. PC Gamer noted that the RX 9060 XT 16GB could offer similar conventional gaming performance for less, so choose the Nvidia card when its software ecosystem or features have real value to you—not simply because the listing showed an 11% discount.

Best low-cost gaming options: Arc B580 and B570

The B580’s $269.99 price and 12GB capacity made it the more comfortable long-term choice when the gap over the B570 was small. The B570 at $209.99 remained sensible for budget 1080p systems when substantially cheaper. PC Gamer described the B570 as near previous-generation Arc A770 performance but harder to recommend beside a closely priced B580. Intel Arc performance also depends heavily on current drivers and a platform with Resizable BAR enabled.

  • Powered by GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
  • Integrated with 16GB GDDR7 256bit memory interface
  • PCIe 5.0
  • WINDFORCE cooling system

Best niche bargain: Arc A380

The $118.99 A380 was useful for a low-cost display, media, or AV1-encoding system. It is not a sensible recommendation for modern high-end AAA gaming. Confirm that your motherboard, CPU, operating system, and drivers support Intel’s requirements, and verify the outputs on the exact Sparkle board if you need several high-resolution monitors. Intel’s product information is at Arc A-series.

Choose by resolution and workload

1080p gaming

Arc B570, Arc B580, RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, and RX 9060 XT 16GB are the sensible tiers. An 8GB card can still be adequate at 1080p, but 16GB models provide more headroom for demanding textures and longer ownership. VRAM does not determine speed by itself: a faster 8GB GPU can beat a slower 16GB GPU whenever the game fits comfortably in 8GB.

1440p gaming

For entry 1440p, the B580 and RX 9060 XT 16GB are the value choices. The RTX 5060 Ti 16GB adds Nvidia’s feature and software advantages. For high-refresh 1440p, move to the RX 9070, RX 9070 XT, RTX 5070, or RTX 5070 Ti, comparing ray tracing and upscaling as well as rasterized frame rates.

  • Axial-tech fan design features a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
  • A 2.5-slot design maximizes compatibility and cooling efficiency for superior performance in small chassis

4K gaming

The RX 9070 XT, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5080 are the appropriate performance classes in this list. The RTX 5080 was the fastest selection, but its $999.99 historical price and greater power and cooling demands make it a performance purchase rather than a value recommendation. The 5070 Ti or 9070 XT can deliver a better cost-to-performance balance depending on the game mix.

Creation, AI, and encoding

Nvidia is generally the safer choice for CUDA-dependent applications, rendering tools, and AI software, while AMD can offer more gaming performance or VRAM per dollar. Intel Arc’s AV1 encoding and low entry price make the A380 or B-series cards useful in particular media workflows. Confirm support in the applications you actually use; feature labels are not a substitute for application compatibility.

Nvidia, AMD, or Intel?

Nvidia

Nvidia’s advantages are DLSS, frame generation, ray tracing, CUDA, and broad creator-software support. The trade-off is that similarly priced Nvidia cards may offer less VRAM or lower conventional gaming performance than AMD alternatives. Product families are listed at RTX 5060, RTX 5070, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5080.

  • Protective PCB coating helps protect against short circuits caused by moisture, dust, or debris
  • 3.6-slot design with massive fin array optimized for airflow from three Axial-tech fans
  • Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal thermal performance and longevity, outlasting traditional thermal paste for graphics cards under heavy loads

AMD

AMD’s RX 9000-series cards in this roundup emphasized rasterized performance and generous 16GB capacities. FSR and ray-tracing results vary by game, and board-partner coolers, dimensions, connectors, and warranties are not interchangeable. See AMD’s graphics product directory and the individual RX 9060 XT, RX 9070, and RX 9070 XT pages.

Intel Arc

Arc B-series cards offered unusually competitive prices and capacities, but drivers and game compatibility warrant more checking than with the established alternatives. Resizable BAR should be enabled for best performance; older platforms can be a poor fit. Intel’s official pages cover the B-series.

Amazon was not always the cheapest retailer

Do not assume an Amazon event price was exclusive or lowest. PC Gamer found that Newegg, Walmart, Best Buy, and B&H sometimes matched or undercut Amazon during the same 2025 promotion. The comparison also noted that some advertised discounts were less compelling when judged against normal street prices. Before paying, compare the exact board model—not just the GPU name—at:

Best Value
ASRock Intel Arc A580 Challenger 8GB OC Graphics Card, Intel Xe HPG Architecture, 8GB GDDR6, PCIe 4.0, Dual Fans, 0dB Silent Cooling, DisplayPort 2.0

  • High-Performance Memory: 8GB GDDR6 on a 256-bit interface running at 16 Gbps, delivering excellent bandwidth for 1440p gaming and creative workloads.
  • Factory Overclocked: Engine clock set at 2000 MHz out of the box, providing optimized performance for smooth gameplay and multimedia tasks.
  • Advanced Dual-Fan Cooling: Features a dual-fan design with striped axial fans and an ultra-fit heatpipe for efficient thermal management. 0dB Silent Cooling stops fans completely at low temperatures for silent operation.
  • Durable Construction: Includes a stylish metal backplate for enhanced PCB rigidity and a premium aesthetic, backed by ASRock's Super Alloy components for long-term reliability.

PC Gamer’s June 29, 2026 guide recorded different market prices, including approximately $549 for an RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, $680 for an RX 9070 XT, and $900 for an RTX 5070 Ti. Those figures are historical observations, not verified August 2026 prices. A current buying guide must refresh listings immediately before publication.

Compatibility and seller checklist

  1. Confirm the listing. Check “Sold by,” “Ships from,” condition, return window, warranty, and whether the item is new, open-box, or renewed.
  2. Measure the card. Verify length, height, slot thickness, radiator or front-fan clearance, and airflow—especially for the SFF-ready RTX 5070 Ti.
  3. Match the power system. Check recommended PSU wattage, connector type, cable clearance, and whether your supply has the required native leads.
  4. Check the platform. Confirm PCIe compatibility, current drivers, operating-system support, and Resizable BAR for every Intel Arc build.
  5. Check displays and CPU balance. Count the required outputs and resolutions, and avoid pairing a high-end GPU with a CPU that will bottleneck your target frame rate.
  6. Compare the checkout total. Prices, coupons, seller status, and shipping can change before payment; verify the final amount rather than relying on a crossed-out “was” price.

Who should upgrade—and who should skip?

Upgrade when you are moving at least one meaningful performance tier, gaining needed VRAM, or adding a feature your software requires. An owner of a recent RTX 40-series or RX 7000-series card may see little benefit from a side-grade to an RTX 5060 Ti or RX 9060 XT unless capacity, encoding, or a specific application is the reason for the purchase. Buyers coming from older entry-level cards have more to gain from the B580, RX 9060 XT, or RTX 5060 Ti; enthusiasts seeking a substantial 1440p/4K jump should start at the RX 9070 XT or RTX 5070 Ti.

What these deals mean in 2026

The October 2025 event is now a historical reference. Stock, sellers, warranty terms, model revisions, and prices may all have changed, and the listed cards may no longer be the best choices in a current market. Use the rankings to understand the trade-offs, then recheck live prices and independent benchmarks before ordering.
