Gadget Review’s “Ten of the Worst Products of 2024” names ten products its author says disappointed consumers, from audio gear to kitchen gadgets. It is an editorial countdown published February 28, 2025—not a standardized ranking: the page does not disclose a consistent scoring rubric, test protocol, or selection method. Its products also do unrelated jobs, so their positions should not be read as comparable scores or proof that each is among the worst products on the market. Read the original countdown.
How to read the countdown
The list is by Al Landes and presents ten items in descending order. The page includes specific numerical claims for several products, but the reviewed article does not link the underlying test reports or explain how those figures were measured. Treat them as claims reported by Gadget Review in 2025, not as independently verified product facts. The article mentions Consumer Reports and Choice, but does not link readers to primary reports from either organization.
For a purchase decision, the useful questions are more practical than the countdown order: does the item do its intended job, is it easy to use and maintain, and is there a simpler alternative? Those are reader-oriented comparison points, not a test score supplied by Gadget Review. Its page also discloses that purchases made through its links support the site.
The ten products, from No. 10 to No. 1
10. Music Hat
Gadget Review criticizes the wearable audio device’s sound and the placement of its controls, saying it compared poorly in sound tests with inexpensive earbuds. The article does not identify a specific model or link a test report, so it does not establish how the device performs across products sold under that description.

9. Boon Glow NightLight (knockoff)
The article calls the item a counterfeit and says its glow was weak, reporting an output of 0.2 lumens. That figure is attributable only to Gadget Review’s 2025 article: the page links no laboratory report, product listing, or testing method. The evidence reviewed does not independently establish the item’s authenticity or measured brightness.
8. Sliding Pizza Peel
Gadget Review says the sliding mechanism shifted toppings and dough stuck more often than it did with conventional peels. It also reports that a strength test found failure at four pounds of pressure. No product model or linked test method is supplied, so the number should not be treated as a general durability rating for sliding peels.

7. Cabbage Shredder
The article describes inconsistent cuts, plastic construction, and a force test requiring more than 12 pounds of pressure. It does not identify a model or provide test documentation. Its suggested alternative is a chef’s knife, but the article does not test or endorse a particular knife. If you already have a suitable knife and are comfortable using it, that simpler tool may avoid buying a dedicated shredder; the article does not establish which choice is safer or faster for every user.
6. Electronic Drumsticks
Gadget Review says the sticks offered three sounds and reports a delay of 267 milliseconds. No model, measurement setup, or independent report is linked, so that latency figure is an article-reported claim rather than a verified specification readers can apply to electronic drumsticks generally.

5. Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker
The article criticizes the machine’s process, cleanup, storage footprint, and price. It reports eight components to clean and a space requirement of 432 cubic inches, figures attributable here only to Gadget Review’s 2025 article. Although the page refers generally to “Consumer reports,” it links an image rather than a named Consumer Reports article or specific model. The reviewed page therefore does not let readers verify that organization’s findings or apply the figures to every Cuisinart ice cream maker.
4. Al Dente Pasta Timer
Gadget Review claims timing variance of ±42% and a maximum alert level of 48 decibels. The page gives no model details, test method, or independently accessible test record. These numbers should be understood as claims in the article, not established performance specifications.

3. Helio AirBroom
The article says testing showed spills spreading 237% wider and criticizes the product’s collection performance and low-density material. It does not link a test protocol, model listing, or underlying report. The percentage is therefore a Gadget Review, 2025 claim—not a result readers can independently reproduce from the page.
2. Multi-Use Peeler (Temu, listed at 47 cents)
Gadget Review reports blade slippage in 87% of attempts and lists a price of 47 cents. It links no test protocol or product listing; the listed price is not established as current. The figure cannot be generalized to other peelers or to current marketplace listings.

1. Boće Coaster
The article says the coaster claimed to change a beverage’s flavor. It reports a blind taste test involving 124 participants, with no detectable difference, and spectroscopy that found no detected liquid changes. These are claims by Gadget Review, not independently verified results in the sources reviewed. A related Freakin’ Reviews video listing on Rumble describes a test of the flavor-alteration claim, but does not substantiate the article’s participant count or spectroscopy claim.

The countdown can serve as a prompt to scrutinize an unfamiliar product’s core function, upkeep, durability, and alternatives. It is not enough on its own to establish that a product category is broadly defective or that a particular item is a poor purchase for every household. The entries span unrelated tasks, and the precise test claims lack linked methods or supporting reports on the reviewed page.
Quick Recap
- Check the exact model and current listing before relying on a product-specific claim.
- Look for a named test method or report when a numerical performance figure matters to your decision.
- Compare a specialized gadget with the simplest tool you already own, while considering whether it meets your needs.
