TELO announced a $20 million Series A on September 23, 2025, to move its MT1 electric mini-truck toward production readiness and federal requirements. The company says the compact pickup is designed to combine city-friendly dimensions with a configurable bed and room for up to five people. The funding and vehicle specifications are company-reported; neither confirms that the truck is certified or in customers’ hands.
What TELO announced about the $20 million round
TELO said the oversubscribed Series A was co-led by designer and co-founder Yves Béhar and Marc Tarpenning, a venture partner at Spero Ventures. In its announcement, the company also named TO VC, E12 Ventures, Neo, Marc Benioff, Uncorrelated Ventures, Nova Threshold and MCJ among the investors. TELO said it would use the capital to reach production readiness and meet federal requirements. The announcement does not provide an independently audited breakdown of the financing. TELO also reported more than 12,000 pre-orders, representing over $600 million. Those are company figures; the available reporting does not independently verify the reservation count or the stated value. A pre-order is not the same as a completed vehicle sale or delivery.
What the MT1 is designed to offer
TELO’s current product page describes the MT1 as a 152-inch-long electric pickup. Its listed specifications are estimates from the manufacturer, not results verified on customer production vehicles. The MT1 product page lists:

The appeal is a small exterior footprint paired with a bed and seating intended to serve more than one kind of trip. TELO positions the truck for urban driving as well as hauling, deliveries and on-site commercial work. Why production and delivery remain the key questions
When TechCrunch covered the financing in September 2025, it reported that proceeds would support a production-intent version, US homologation and crash testing. The publication also reported that CEO Jason Marks hoped for first deliveries by the end of 2026. That was a target stated in 2025, not confirmation that the target was met. As of October 8, 2026, the available sources do not confirm completed safety certification or customer deliveries. TELO’s site continues to solicit reservations. Buyers should therefore treat the MT1 as a vehicle in development and check directly for current certification, delivery timing, final specifications and reservation terms before committing money.
Check specifications carefully, especially towing
TELO’s product page lists 6,600 pounds of towing capacity, while an August 2026 Electrek report says the company raised its claimed rating to 8,000 pounds. Because the two figures conflict, there is no sound basis here for presenting either as a settled production rating. More broadly, compare the MT1 with other vehicles using the same measures: exterior dimensions and parking access, seats, usable bed length, payload and towing ratings, range and charging, price, and actual delivery status. Distinguish manufacturer estimates from independently tested or final production specifications; the available sources do not establish a balanced current comparison with competing trucks.

The financing is a step toward TELO’s stated goal of getting the MT1 ready for production, not proof that the vehicle is ready to buy or that its advertised figures will carry over unchanged to a certified production model. For personal-finance planning, a reservation should not be treated as a delivered vehicle: weigh the deposit and cancellation terms, timing uncertainty, and the possibility that final specifications or pricing may change. The cited sources do not establish final purchase pricing or reservation terms.
