The highest reported TV pay rates in this cross-era ranking range from $40,000 to $3.2 million per episode. The largest figures are not all acting-only salaries: some combine acting with producing, and reported amounts come from different years and deal structures. They are nominal figures, not adjusted for inflation.

Who are the highest-paid TV actors per episode?

The ranking below orders reported episode-level figures, not audited contract salaries. Celebrity Net Worth’s 2026 page compiles many of the historical and recent estimates; Variety’s 2025 report records Jason Isaacs directly confirming his cast’s rate. Those sources do not establish a comprehensive leaderboard, and their figures are not equally certain.

Reported amount per episode Actor and show Period and what the figure covers
$3.2 million Sarah Jessica Parker, Sex and the City Reported for the final three seasons, after Parker became a producer. Treat this as an acting-and-producing package, not a verified acting-only salary. Celebrity Net Worth (2026 page).
At least $2 million Robert Downey Jr., The Sympathizer Reported rate; Downey also served as an executive producer. The amount was not publicly confirmed. Celebrity Net Worth (2026 page).
Up to $2 million Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, The Morning Show Reported rate for each; both were executive producers. Reporting has differed on whether producing compensation is included. Celebrity Net Worth (2021 article, current page); Celebrity Net Worth (2026 page).
At least $1.8 million Ray Romano, Everybody Loves Raymond Reported contract rate; the source says it excluded additional producing and syndication income. Celebrity Net Worth (2026 page).
$1.6 million Kelsey Grammer, Frasier Reported historical salary benchmark. Celebrity Net Worth (2026 page).
$1 million Jerry Seinfeld, Seinfeld Reported for the ninth and final season in 1997; the source describes it as the first time a television actor reached that rate. Celebrity Net Worth (2026 page).
$40,000 Jason Isaacs and the The White Lotus season-three cast Isaacs said each cast member received the same amount. At eight episodes, that is about $320,000 per actor for the season. He confirmed the rate in an interview reported by Variety on June 18, 2025. Variety.

What the episode-pay figures do—and do not—compare

Some headline rates include more than acting

Producing fees can be part of the reported package. Parker’s reported Sex and the City rate followed her becoming a producer; Downey, Aniston, and Witherspoon also held executive-producer roles on the shows listed. The available reports do not consistently separate those duties from acting compensation.

Backend income can also change a headline figure. Charlie Sheen’s often-repeated approximately $1.8 million rate for Two and a Half Men includes expected backend above a reported base salary closer to $1.25 million. John Krasinski’s reported Jack Ryan amount is described as including producing compensation. These examples show why a reported “per episode” figure is not always a paycheck for acting alone. Season length and era matter

A rate attached to a long-running network sitcom season and one attached to a shorter streaming season describe different work periods. The table identifies the show and season context where the reporting supplies it; it does not convert the rates into comparable annual earnings. The figures are nominal amounts from different years, not inflation-adjusted values.

Annual earnings lists answer a different question

Yearly celebrity-earnings totals can include endorsements, licensing, business ventures, and other income. They do not establish an actor’s largest TV episode salary. Celebrity Net Worth’s discussion of annual earnings.

How certain is the ranking?

Most contract amounts in the table are reported estimates compiled by Celebrity Net Worth, not figures from a public contract registry. The site’s entries reflect reporting that can differ in its treatment of producing and backend compensation. Isaacs’s White Lotus figure has a different basis: Variety reported his direct confirmation that the cast received equal pay. Even that is a report of an interview, not a published contract.

Because TV deals are often private and reporting is inconsistent, this is a ranking of notable reported episode-level figures—not an exhaustive all-time or current list, nor proof of each actor’s acting-only salary.
