On August 11, 2026, Team8 announced $365 million in new capital: $265 million for its third Team8 Capital fund and more than $100 million for follow-on investments. The two figures describe separate fundraising announcements.
What Team8’s $500 million covered
Goodwin, which served as Team8’s U.S. counsel, reported on March 7, 2024 that multiple fund closings totaled approximately $500 million. The reported allocations were:
| 2024 fund or allocation | Reported amount | Stated purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Team8 Enterprise Partners III | Approximately $110 million | Jointly build and invest in one or two seed-stage cybersecurity and data infrastructure/AI startups a year. |
| Team8 Health Partners I | Approximately $70 million | Invest in one or two seed-stage digital health companies a year. |
| Team8 Capital II | Approximately $235 million | Invest at seed and Series A in cybersecurity, enterprise infrastructure—including data, AI, cloud, development and DevOps—fintech, and digital health. |
| Follow-on and co-investment funds | Approximately $85 million | Back successful existing portfolio companies. |
The first three allocations add up to about $415 million; the approximately $85 million for follow-ons and co-investments brings the total to roughly $500 million. Goodwin said the closings took Team8’s assets under management above $1 billion at the time. Goodwin’s March 7, 2024 announcement reports the closings and amounts.
How the 2026 announcement differs
On August 11, 2026, Team8 announced $365 million in new capital. The firm said $265 million was for Team8 Capital’s third fund, with more than $100 million allocated to follow-on investments in high-conviction portfolio companies. Its stated focus was Seed and Series A companies in cybersecurity, software infrastructure, fintech, and digital health. See Team8’s August 11, 2026 announcement.

| Announcement | New capital reported | Allocation described | Reported AUM context |
|---|---|---|---|
| March 2024 | Approximately $500 million across multiple fund closings | $110 million Enterprise; $70 million Digital Health; $235 million Venture Capital; approximately $85 million follow-on and co-investment funds | Goodwin said AUM exceeded $1 billion after the closings. |
| August 2026 | $365 million | $265 million for Team8 Capital III and more than $100 million for follow-on investments | Team8 said AUM was nearly $2 billion across eight funds since its 2014 launch. |
These are figures reported by Goodwin and Team8, respectively; they are not an independently audited comparison. Team8’s current About page separately describes the firm as having $1.8 billion in AUM, so that profile figure should not be substituted for the nearly $2 billion stated in the 2026 fundraising announcement.
What the announcements say about Team8’s investment model
The 2024 closings combined venture creation—building companies alongside founders—with conventional venture-capital investment. The Enterprise and Digital Health funds described plans to build and invest in a small number of seed-stage companies each year; the larger Venture-Capital fund targeted seed and Series A investments across several technology sectors. Follow-on allocations in both announcements were intended to support existing portfolio companies.
Team8’s 2026 announcement described its approach as working with founders from the earliest stages, pairing capital with a multidisciplinary team of builders and its “Villages” of enterprise C-level leaders. Its stated investment areas were cybersecurity, software infrastructure, fintech, and digital health. The March 2024 press release also described the firm’s focus on company building alongside investment; see Team8’s March 2024 announcement.

The available announcements establish two separate totals: approximately $500 million in 2024 fund closings and $365 million announced in 2026. They do not identify the individual limited partners behind the capital, and the AUM figures cited above are reported by Team8 or its counsel rather than independently audited. The $500 million headline should therefore not be read as a new $500 million raise in 2026.
