Target’s June 24, 2024 partnership with Shopify gave selected U.S. Shopify merchants a way to apply to sell on Target Plus, Target’s curated, invite-only marketplace. It did not grant automatic access to Shopify sellers, and Target’s announcement said only that select merchants’ products were expected in stores—not which products or locations would carry them.
How can Shopify sellers sell on Target Plus?
Target’s June 24, 2024 announcement said U.S. Shopify merchants could apply to sell online through Shopify Marketplace Connect. The route is an application, not automatic admission: Shopify’s current guidance says a merchant must first receive Target’s approval, then connect the account and manage supported marketplace operations through Shopify admin.
- Apply to Target Plus. The partnership announcement identified Shopify Marketplace Connect as the route for U.S. Shopify merchants to apply.
- Wait for Target’s approval. Marketplace Connect does not itself approve a merchant for Target Plus. Shopify says approval is required before the seller can connect.
- Connect and manage the store. Once approved, sellers can use Shopify admin to connect and manage product listings, inventory, orders, and fulfillment, as described in Shopify’s Target Plus help documentation.
Target’s announcement named True Classic and Caden Lane as examples of merchants involved in the partnership. They were examples, not a complete seller list.
Is Target Plus open to any Shopify merchant?
No. Target describes Target Plus as curated and invite-only. The partnership created an application route for selected U.S. Shopify merchants; it did not promise acceptance to every applicant. Target did not publish a current total of marketplace sellers or products in the official materials cited here.

In a Target interview published June 24, 2024, Chief Digital and Product Officer Prat Vemana said the company had more than doubled the number of partners and products hosted on Target Plus over the preceding year. That is a historical company statement about growth before the interview, not a current marketplace count. Target’s stated positioning is reflected in then-executive Cara Sylvester’s description: “Target Plus invites consumers to explore a curated collection of products from vendors we trust, so they can shop our assortment with confidence.”
Can sellers manage Target Plus orders in Shopify?
After Target approves the merchant, Shopify’s current help documentation says Marketplace Connect can be used through Shopify admin to manage listings, inventory, orders, and fulfillment. That describes the supported integration workflow; it does not establish Target Plus’s seller fees, commercial terms, or which fulfillment arrangement applies to any particular merchant.

Which Shopify brands will be sold in Target stores?
The June 24, 2024 announcement said select merchants’ products would also be featured in Target stores in the months to come. It named True Classic and Caden Lane as partnership examples, but did not provide a complete store assortment or confirm that all partnership merchants—or those named examples—would have current physical-store availability. The announcement should not be read as a current store roster.

Target’s July 1, 2026 update described additional marketplace brands and category growth. It named apparel and accessories brands Clarks, Forever 21, and JanSport; beauty and wellness brands LovelySkin and NatureWise; and home, entertainment, and food brands Serta, JLab, Hisense, and Wild Alaskan Company. Target also described expansion in Korean beauty and sports equipment. These are additions Target reported about its own marketplace assortment, not evidence that each brand joined through Shopify.
