T-Mobile’s current plan comparison identifies Essentials as its lowest-price unlimited plan and lists three lines at $120 per month before taxes and fees. Better Value’s launch announcement called it a limited-time offer, and its availability on October 8, 2026, is not confirmed.
Better Value’s launch price and eligibility
T-Mobile announced Better Value on January 7, 2026, with availability beginning January 14. Its launch price was $140 per month for three lines with AutoPay—about $46 per line—plus taxes and fees. T-Mobile described the offer as limited-time, so treat that figure as a launch price, not a confirmed current enrollment price. T-Mobile’s launch announcement does not establish whether the offer remains available on October 8, 2026.
At launch, eligibility depended on the customer:
- New customers: Needed three or more phone lines and had to switch at least two lines to T-Mobile.
- Existing customers: Needed three or more lines and at least five years of T-Mobile tenure; the announcement also described adding lines.
Those are launch terms, not verified current enrollment rules. Check T-Mobile’s current offer terms before switching or changing a plan.
What Better Value included
The launch package combined wireless allowances with streaming and phone-upgrade benefits. T-Mobile described the service and perks as follows:

How it compares with Essentials
T-Mobile’s current plan comparison calls Essentials its lowest-price unlimited talk, text, and data plan. It lists $120 per month for three lines and $140 for four lines, before taxes, fees, and other discounts. The prices are not a direct comparison of identical packages: Better Value’s $140 figure was its launch price for three lines with AutoPay, and the launch terms also specified eligibility and a different set of benefits.

| Plan or term | Three lines | Four lines | What the figure means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Better Value | $140/month at launch | Not stated in the launch announcement | With AutoPay, plus taxes and fees; limited-time offer announced January 2026. Current availability is unconfirmed. |
| Essentials | $120/month | $140/month | Current T-Mobile plan comparison accessed October 8, 2026; before taxes, fees, and other discounts. T-Mobile identifies it as its lowest-price unlimited talk, text, and data plan. |
Essentials is the clearer choice if the priority is T-Mobile’s lowest listed monthly price for unlimited talk, text, and data. Better Value’s launch bundle could be worth more to a household that uses its larger hotspot allowance, international data, included streaming, satellite access, or two-year upgrade feature. Whether those extras justify the additional cost depends on the household’s usage and on current offer terms.
What to compare before choosing
Compare the plans for the same number of lines and the features your household actually uses. A headline monthly price can conceal differences in taxes, eligibility, data, and bundled benefits.

- Data and hotspot: Compare domestic data priority, high-speed hotspot limits, and speeds after an allowance is used.
- Roaming: Check high-speed data amounts, reduced speeds, and the countries covered.
- Perks and upgrades: Confirm which streaming subscriptions are included, whether add-ons cost extra, and what plan or financing conditions apply to phone deals.
- Price guarantee: Better Value’s launch announcement described a five-year guarantee for on-network talk, text, and 5G data, excluding taxes and fees. It also said cancelling lines or changing the plan affects pricing and promotions. Check the current terms rather than assuming this protection applies to a new enrollment.
T-Mobile’s current plan comparison lists Essentials as the lowest-price unlimited option. The company’s Experience More plan page lists $185 for three lines and $220 for four lines, with 60GB of high-speed hotspot data, streaming, and roaming features. That is a contextual comparison, not a like-for-like price check against Better Value’s January 2026 launch offer.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is Better Value actually the cheapest?
No. On T-Mobile’s current comparison, Essentials is the carrier’s lowest-price unlimited plan, and its listed three-line price is $120 per month before taxes and fees. Better Value was positioned as a more feature-rich family bundle, not the lowest-priced option. Any claim that it saves money compared with another carrier depends on the competing plan, number of lines, taxes, promotions, and features included in the comparison; T-Mobile’s launch savings framing is the company’s claim, not an independently established savings figure.
