Initial Capital led the round. The announcement described plans at that time—not a current launch schedule—and later reporting says Supersocial was acquired by Super League Enterprise in 2025.
Who invested in Supersocial’s seed round?
Initial Capital led the $5.2 million round. The other named participants were Griffin Gaming Partners, Warner Music Group, Marc Benioff’s TIME Ventures, LightShed Ventures, Powerhouse Capital, Aream & Co., and angel investors. The September 2021 announcement did not disclose a company valuation or individual investment amounts. GamesBeat’s September 29, 2021 report and interview covered the financing.
What did Supersocial plan to build?
Supersocial described itself as a developer and publisher of games and experiences for Roblox, with an ambition to expand to other emerging platforms later. CEO Yonatan “Yon” Raz-Fridman called Roblox the company’s strategic starting point, not necessarily its endpoint. In the September 2021 interview, he characterized Roblox as combining a game engine, publishing and distribution, social networking, and cloud services.
Supersocial Labs and creator support
The company also announced Supersocial Labs, an effort to recruit aspiring Roblox developers and help them make games. The proposed support included capital, operating expertise, infrastructure, and development cycles intended to move quickly. The idea was not just to produce Supersocial’s own titles, but to support a pipeline of creator-led projects.

Ghostopia was an announced project
In 2021, Supersocial described Ghostopia as an upcoming role-playing experience for Roblox. That contemporary announcement establishes it as a planned project at the time; it does not, by itself, establish whether or when the game later launched.
What changed after the 2021 announcement?
Supersocial’s current about page presents the company as a creative studio with Roblox experience and lists Yon Raz-Fridman as CEO, Jenn Mancini as Chief Business Officer, and Pedro Romi as Chief Financial Officer. Separately, a May 2025 equity research report from Taglich Brothers says Super League Enterprise acquired Supersocial on May 1, 2025. The report says the terms were not disclosed and describes Supersocial as a Roblox production studio and creative agency. This is secondary reporting; it does not establish additional deal terms or current standalone financial or operating metrics. Taglich Brothers’ May 2025 report is the source for the acquisition account.
