Reported Sunderland weekly wages for 2025/26
The two dated estimates below agree on Xhaka’s reported £110,000 a week but differ on several other players. The Football Group’s article, published September 24, 2025, cites Capology. SalaryLeaks’ table was last updated June 11, 2026.

Why the estimates differ
The dated lists are snapshots, not a single verified payroll. The Football Group’s September 2025 figures put Mukiele and Geertruida £10,000 and £8,000 a week higher, respectively, than SalaryLeaks’ June 2026 estimates. The lists also differ for Brobbey: £60,000 in the earlier article and £75,000 in the later table. The reviewed sources do not establish why those estimates changed, so it would be misleading to combine them into one definitive ranking.

The Football Group cautions readers that only the club and players know their wages, and says to treat the figures accordingly. SalaryLeaks describes its reporting and verification approach, but its figures are still estimates rather than Sunderland-confirmed contract disclosures. The sources do not establish players’ exact contract terms, bonuses or how loan wages are divided.

Sunderland Limited reported £46.816 million in wages and salaries for the financial year ended July 31, 2025, in its 2025 statements. That is a company-wide figure for a prior financial year, not a player-by-player disclosure and not a total for the 2025/26 season. It cannot confirm any individual player’s weekly pay. How to read weekly wage estimates
- Check the date: a list published in September 2025 and one updated in June 2026 may reflect different estimates.
- Keep each source’s figures together: do not mix amounts from separate snapshots and present the result as an official ranking.
- Distinguish estimates from disclosures: an estimated weekly wage is not proof of a player’s contract, bonuses or take-home pay.
- Do not treat annual club accounts as individual salaries: a company’s total wages and salaries covers a different scope and period.
