Bloomberg reported on July 24, 2025, that the Bloomberg Billionaires Index estimated Sundar Pichai’s net worth at $1.1 billion. That is the clearest dated, attributable estimate available here—not a verified figure for October 4, 2026. Net worth is also different from salary, annual compensation, stock-award targets, or proceeds from a particular share sale.
What is Sundar Pichai’s net worth?
The Bloomberg Billionaires Index estimated Pichai’s wealth at $1.1 billion in a Bloomberg report dated July 24, 2025. Bloomberg linked the estimate to Alphabet’s rising share price. Because the value of stock and other assets can change, the figure is a dated estimate rather than a fixed or current account balance. Bloomberg’s report
This figure does not establish his net worth on October 4, 2026. A Forbes profile search result was last updated July 15, 2026, but did not provide a wealth estimate, and its profile page was inaccessible. There is not enough information here to substitute a newer Forbes figure or claim that the 2025 estimate remains current.
Why his compensation is not his net worth
Net worth is the value of a person’s assets minus liabilities at a given time. Executive compensation disclosures measure pay under specific reporting rules; they do not provide a complete personal balance sheet.
Alphabet’s 2026 proxy statement reports Pichai’s fiscal 2025 total compensation as $10,906,079. That is the Summary Compensation Table figure for the fiscal year, not a net-worth estimate. The proxy separately reports “compensation actually paid,” a measure that reflects changes in the value of unvested stock awards. Neither amount is interchangeable with total personal wealth. What Alphabet disclosed about his salary and stock awards
In a March 4, 2026 SEC filing, Alphabet said Pichai’s annual salary was $2 million, unchanged since 2020, and that he was not eligible for an annual bonus. Salary is one component of compensation, not a measure of wealth. Alphabet’s March 2026 filing
Rank #2
The same filing described stock awards with target values. These targets are not evidence that the amounts were received in cash, vested, or became part of his current net worth.
| Award described in the March 2026 filing | Disclosed target value | What the target means |
|---|---|---|
| Alphabet performance stock units (PSUs) | $126 million total: two tranches targeted at $63 million each | Performance-based awards; Alphabet said the PSUs depend on total shareholder return relative to S&P 100 companies and may not vest at all. |
| Alphabet Google stock units (GSUs) | $84 million | Time-based stock units, subject to the award terms and continued employment. |
| Waymo performance units (BPUs) | Approximately $130 million | Subject to Waymo performance conditions; if earned, the units settle in separate company units. |
| Wing performance units (BPUs) | Approximately $45 million | Subject to Wing performance conditions; if earned, the units settle in separate company units. |
The award values are stated targets, not confirmed realized compensation. Performance conditions, time-based vesting, continued-employment requirements, and the value of the underlying equity all matter. They should not be added together and presented as cash received or as Pichai’s current net worth.

What share transfers and sales do—and do not—show
Insider filings need to be read by transaction type. A February 2026 Form 4 reported a transfer of 1,111,464 shares for estate-planning purposes and explicitly said no purchase or sale was involved. A separate March 2026 filing reported Class C share sales under a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan. A transfer is not a sale; a sale records a transaction but does not, by itself, reveal a person’s full assets, liabilities, or wealth.
- February 2026 Form 4: estate-planning transfer, not a purchase or sale.
- March 2026 Form 4: Class C share sales under a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan.
How to interpret the available figures
Each figure answers a different question. Bloomberg’s estimate is a reported assessment of wealth on a specific date; Alphabet’s proxy and SEC filing disclose compensation and award terms; Form 4s report particular securities transactions. They cannot be compared as if they were versions of the same number.
