Stratégie Grains, now part of Expana, covers EU-country forecasts for oilseed rape, sunflower and soybean, including planted area, yield and production. But its public service pages do not publish the current EU-27 crop values. To get those figures, use an authorized Expana report or service and keep the crop year, publication date and geographic scope attached to every number.
What the Strategie Grains oilseed estimates cover
Expana’s Europe Harvests service describes country-level estimates and forecasts for production, yields and planted areas across EU crops. It names oilseed rape, sunflower and soybean among the oilseeds covered. The service also describes regular updates, historical data extending back more than 20 years, estimate trajectories and CSV downloads.
The provider summarizes the coverage this way: “This service brings together our estimates and forecasts for production, yields and planted areas for cereals, oilseeds and protein crops in each EU country.”
Crop forecasts and balance-sheet data are different products
Expana’s related Classic supply and demand balance sheets service also covers oilseed rape, sunflower and soybean. Its country-level historical series includes stocks, production, imports, exports, consumption and seeds. The service states that its oilseed history covers five years. These balance-sheet items provide context for supply and use; they are not interchangeable with planted-area or yield estimates.

#1 Best Overall
- OMEGA-3 RICH OILSEED: Camelina is an oilseed crop that produces edible omega-3 rich oil that may be used in food and nutritional oil applications. Also known as gold-of-pleasure, false flax, wild flax, German sesame, or Siberian oilseed, Camelina contains about 34 - 36% omega-3 oil.
- EDIBLE OIL & BIODIESEL USE: Camelina seed is used for producing oil with a high omega-3 profile and is also gaining attention as an affordable biodiesel source. It is a versatile option for growers who want an alternative oilseed crop for food, nutritional oil, renewable fuel, and rotation systems.
- VERSATILE COVER CROP: Camelina can be planted alone or with compatible cover crop blends for fall-to-spring cover, spring planting, soil protection, and crop rotation support. Use with broadcast spreaders or seed drills for soil health and rotation programs.
- SOIL HEALTH & FIELD ADAPTABILITY: Suitable for dryland fields, marginal growing areas, low-fertility sites, and crop rotation systems where Camelina is adapted. It helps hold nitrogen, supports erosion control, and produces a main taproot that can help with compacted soils.
- DROUGHT TOLERANT & POLLINATOR FRIENDLY: For growers who want a drought-tolerant oilseed cover crop that supports omega-3 oil production, soil health, erosion control, crop rotation, and pollinator habitat. Camelina can provide early spring blooms for pollinators. Seeding rate: 8 - 10 lbs per acre.
Where to obtain current EU-27 figures
The public service descriptions explain what the products cover, but do not give current EU-27 oilseed values. Current crop and country time series appear to require access to the relevant service or report. Obtain the figures directly from an authorized Expana source, and record the report or update date with them.
- Identify the crop and crop year you need: oilseed rape, sunflower or soybean.
- Choose the relevant measure: production, yield or planted area. If you need stocks, trade or consumption, use the balance-sheet data rather than treating it as a crop forecast.
- Open the applicable Expana service or report and confirm that the geography is EU-27, not a broader grouping.
- Save the publication or update date and whether the figure is a forecast, estimate or realized harvest. If you download a CSV, retain those details alongside the extracted value.
The Europe Harvests page describes a free demo for prospective users. That is a way to assess the service; it is not itself a published crop estimate.

- QUICK GROWTH PERFECT FOR SHORT GROWING SEASONS - Our deluxe daikon oil seeds forage radish has an extra long taproot that breaks up compacted soils and restores nutrients, great for a quick growing season!
- A FAVORITE OF DEER AND LIVESTOCK - Our leafy top-growth provide forage for deer and livestock. We recommend that our daikon oilseed should be no more than two thirds of livestock diet
- GROWS QUICK - Our deluxe daikon seeds grow quicker than most, up to 48 inches tall in only 60 - 75 days, perfect for denying any chance of invasive weeds taking over your soil, and leaving you ready for your next planting
- DECOMPOSES EASILY - Like any good winter cover crop, our daikon seeds decompose into the soil, delivering powerful nutrients back to your soil. Great for use going into the cold winter season
- SIMPLE PLANTING - Simply plant 1/4 - 1/2 inch deep, with 10-20 lbs of seed per acre for best results. With full sun, your seeds will grow to maturity in 60-75 days. Please reach out with any questions!
How to compare forecasts without mixing unlike figures
A crop number is meaningful only with its scope and vintage. Align the crop, crop year, geography and measure before comparing values. Also distinguish a forecast or estimate from a realized harvest. A revised forecast from one provider should be compared with that provider’s earlier vintage; figures from different forecasters do not form a revision series.
- Provider: Name who produced the estimate.
- Geography: Check EU-27 versus EU-27 plus the United Kingdom, or another grouping.
- Vintage: Keep the publication or update date. Forecasts can change as new information arrives.
- Measure: Do not compare production with planted area or yield.
- Status: Label the figure as a forecast, estimate or realized result.
Europe Harvests says users can inspect the trajectory of estimate changes. That makes successive vintages useful for understanding how one provider has revised its view, provided the crop, geography and measure stay consistent.

Public figures are not Strategie Grains estimates
Other organizations publish oilseed outlooks, but those figures must retain their own attribution and scope. For example, COCERAL’s June 10, 2026 forecast put 2026 rapeseed production at 21.5 million tonnes on 6.8 million hectares for EU-27 plus the UK, up from its previous forecast of 21.1 million tonnes and 6.6 million hectares. This is a COCERAL forecast for EU-27+UK, not a Strategie Grains estimate and not an EU-27-only total.
A February 2026 report by Donau Soja relayed COCERAL’s forecast of about 1.15 million hectares of EU-27 soybean area and about 3.18 million tonnes of production for 2026. Those are secondary-reported COCERAL figures, not Strategie Grains values. Neither comparator can be used to fill the gap in Expana’s public service descriptions.
