Sticker Mule co-founder Anthony Constantino sent customers a “Trump 2024” email and text message in July 2024, according to Axios and Forbes. The outreach drew criticism because a commercial customer channel was used for political advocacy. The reports do not establish the exact wording of the text or whether the campaign violated federal text-message rules.
What did the custom sticker printer send to customers?
Axios reported on July 18, 2024, that Sticker Mule co-founder Anthony Constantino emailed customers with the subject line “Trump 2024” and used the company’s brand account to call for support of Donald Trump. Forbes reported that Constantino sent an email and a text with that title to the company’s marketing contact list earlier that week. The reports describe a July 2024 outreach, but do not establish the precise origin of every phone number on the list.
Forbes reproduced wording from the email, including: “I support Trump. Many at Sticker Mule do. Many at Sticker Mule also support Biden. The political hate needs to stop.” The email also promoted a shirt offer: “Btw, this week, get 1 shirt for $4 (normally $19). I suggest buying one that shows you support Trump.” These are reported email excerpts—not verified copies of the text message—so the text’s exact wording is not established.
Why did the message draw criticism?
The incident brought political advocacy into a channel customers ordinarily encounter through a commercial relationship. A marketing contact list may be used for product promotions, but a political appeal can fall outside what recipients expect from that relationship. The distinction matters even when a business owner is expressing a personal belief: the message was reported as sent through Sticker Mule’s company communications.

Forbes reported criticism from customers and employees. That reporting supports saying the outreach prompted backlash; it does not show that all, or even a quantified share, of Sticker Mule’s customers were angered. The available reports do not establish representative customer opinion.
What did Sticker Mule’s co-founder say?
Asked by Axios about using company communications to express his political beliefs, Constantino said: “I want max fun for everyone in the world and I think Donald Trump will deliver that.” Forbes also reported the email’s appeal to end political hostility, including the line, “The political hate needs to stop.”

There is no incident-specific legal conclusion in the available reporting. The FCC’s FCC 22-72 order describes consent requirements for certain automated texts under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), including texts sent using covered autodialing systems to relevant U.S. numbers. Whether those requirements applied to Sticker Mule’s messages depends on facts not established in the reports, including the technology used to send them and the scope of recipients’ consent.
The FCC’s FCC 24-24 order says that standard replies such as “stop,” “quit,” “end,” “revoke,” “opt out,” “cancel,” and “unsubscribe” are per se reasonable ways to revoke consent in the circumstances addressed by that order. It also discusses alternative revocation methods when a sender uses a protocol that does not allow replies. This does not mean every marketing text in every situation must include a particular reply word, and an unwanted message alone does not prove a legal violation.

To assess a specific campaign, relevant questions include whether the message was transactional, promotional, or political; what the recipient agreed to receive; whether the message matched the expectation set at signup; what sending technology was used; and how recipients could revoke consent. The reporting and FCC materials cited here do not establish a regulator finding or other legal determination about Sticker Mule’s campaign.
