SSC Selection Posts Phase XII/2024 is a completed application cycle, not an open recruitment. Applications closed in March 2024, and the computer-based exam was scheduled for May 2024. SSC Southern Region has since published post-level results and nominations through 2026. The reviewed official notice does not verify a consolidated total of 2,049 vacancies, so that figure should not be treated as confirmed.

What happened in the Phase XII/2024 cycle?

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) issued Advertisement No. Phase-XII/2024/Selection Posts for recruitment to posts at three qualification levels: Matriculation, Higher Secondary (10+2), and Graduation and above. These were separate computer-based examinations. The applicable qualification and other eligibility rules depended on the individual post.

Milestone Phase XII/2024 date or detail
Applications opened 26 February 2024
Application deadline 18 March 2024 at 23:00
Online fee-payment deadline 19 March 2024 at 23:00
Correction window 22–24 March 2024
Computer-based examination 6–8 May 2024, listed as tentative in the 2024 notice

All dates above are historical, not current deadlines. The official notice is available in the SSC Phase-XII/2024 notification.

Is the 2,049-post total confirmed?

The official Phase XII notice reviewed here does not independently establish 2,049 as a consolidated vacancy total. A secondary video title used that figure, but that is not sufficient confirmation. Vacancy details should be checked against the relevant post annexure and official updates rather than inferred from an unverified headline.

How did the examination work?

For each qualification level, the objective computer-based examination had 100 questions worth 200 marks in total. SSC divided the questions equally across four subjects:

  • General Intelligence
  • General Awareness
  • Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill)
  • English Language (Basic Knowledge)

The test duration was 60 minutes, or 80 minutes for eligible candidates using a scribe. The SSC notice states: “There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.”

Where prescribed for a post, typing, data-entry, or computer-proficiency tests were qualifying. The notice’s post-specific requirements determine whether such a test applied.

Who was eligible, and what determined selection?

There was no single eligibility rule for all Phase XII posts. The individual post’s details controlled the essential educational qualification, age limit, applicable age relaxation, experience requirement, department, location, and any prescribed skill test. Candidates needed to check the relevant post entry and annexures in the notification.

SSC used computer-based examination scores to shortlist candidates for document scrutiny. The concerned departments checked supporting documents and conducted document verification; a skill test could also apply where the post required one. Meeting the exam threshold alone did not replace post-specific eligibility or document checks.

What was the application fee?

The application fee was ₹100, payable online. The notice provided exemptions for specified categories; consult the notification for the full conditions.

What is the current status?

SSC Southern Region’s official site lists Phase XII post-level results and candidate nominations, with updates dated in 2025 and 2026. That shows the cycle has moved beyond applications, but the page is not a consolidated completion report for every post. Candidates should check the relevant SSC regional office and the recruiting department’s page for updates specific to their post: SSC Southern Region.

For later Selection Posts recruitment, consult SSC’s central site for the applicable notice and dates. Its homepage is updated over time and may display notices for newer cycles: SSC official homepage.
