The subsequently reported timetable placed the SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Examination, 2025 on 6–8 August 2025 and the Combined Hindi Translators Examination (CHT), 2025 Paper-I on 12 August 2025. Those dates have passed. SSC’s original Stenographer notice had listed a broader 6–11 August examination window, so the later dates should be understood as a subsequent schedule update, not the original notice.

The two examinations are separate recruitment processes, not papers in one combined exam. For Stenographer, SSC’s original recruitment notice listed a computer-based exam window of 6–11 August. The later reported schedule narrowed that to 6–8 August. The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions release dated June 18, 2025 likewise described the initial Stenographer window as 6–11 August; it is not the source for the later 6–8 August breakdown.
What the two SSC recruitments covered
Combined Hindi Translators Examination
The CHT recruitment covered Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Hindi Translation Officer, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator, and Sub Inspector (Hindi Translator) roles. The Ministry of Personnel’s June 18, 2025 release reported approximately 437 vacancies at that time; this was an approximate figure in the release, not a final vacancy total. SSC’s CHT 2025 notice is the official reference for recruitment details and instructions.
Stenographer Grade C and D
The Stenographer recruitment covered Grade C (Group B, non-gazetted) and Grade D (Group C) posts in central government ministries, departments, organizations, attached and subordinate offices, and statutory bodies. The June 18, 2025 ministry release reported approximately 261 vacancies, an approximate figure at that point rather than a final total.

For candidates shortlisted in the computer-based examination, the ministry stated: “Those who will be shortlisted in Computer Based Examination, will be required to qualify in Skill Test in Stenography in English/Hindi.” The skill test is a further requirement after the CBT, not another August CBT date.
Stenographer application timeline in the original notice
SSC’s original 2025 Stenographer notice set the online application period for 6–26 June 2025 and the correction window for 1–2 July 2025. It initially scheduled the computer-based examination for 6–11 August; the later report gave the 6–8 August dates. These are historical deadlines and exam dates, not open application or upcoming test windows.

How to check the current status
Because the August 2025 dates have passed, candidates should rely on current SSC notices for results, skill-test developments, allocation, or any other recruitment stage. SSC’s official portal has subsequently carried 2026 follow-up notices, including revised tentative allocation for Stenographer Grade C and D. The available notices cited here do not establish every current stage, particularly for CHT.
