The headline figure of 4,300 posts was reported at the time; it is not a current vacancy count or a confirmed final total.
What was SSC CPO recruitment 2022?
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) issued the notice for the Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination, 2022. It covered two role groupings: Sub-Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police and Sub-Inspector (GD) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). The official notice described a Level 6 pay scale of Rs. 35,400–Rs. 1,12,400 for the posts; that is a pay scale, not an estimate of take-home salary. Read SSC’s official notice and recruitment information.
How many posts were reported?
India Today reported 4,300 posts for the 2022 recruitment: 228 Delhi Police male Sub-Inspector posts, 112 Delhi Police female Sub-Inspector posts, and 3,960 CAPFs Sub-Inspector (GD) posts. These are the reported figures for that cycle, not an updated count. SSC’s archive lists a corrigendum dated 10 October 2022, but the available information here does not establish whether a later revision changed the final vacancy total. See the contemporaneous vacancy report.

- Application window: 10–30 August 2022.
- Online fee payment deadline: 31 August 2022.

These dates belong to the 2022 notice and are not deadlines for a current recruitment cycle.
