No. SSC CHSL 2025 registration is closed. The application deadline was 18 July 2025 at 23:00. The widely reported 3,131 vacancies were only the initial estimate; SSC’s later vacancy list, dated 18 June 2026, totals 3,522 posts.

Is SSC CHSL 2025 registration still open?

No. The application window ran from 23 June to 18 July 2025, with applications due by 23:00 on 18 July. The fee-payment deadline was 19 July 2025 at 23:00, and the correction window was 23–24 July 2025. Those dates have passed, so candidates cannot apply to this cycle using the old “apply now” notice. SSC’s 2025 examination notice sets out the application dates and deadlines.

How many vacancies were there: 3,131 or 3,522?

Both figures are official, but they refer to different stages of vacancy reporting. SSC’s original 2025 notice described approximately 3,131 vacancies as tentative. Its later final vacancy list, dated 18 June 2026, gives a total of 3,522.

For the later published count, see SSC’s final vacancy list. The final total supersedes the initial estimate for understanding the published vacancy count; the two numbers are not competing application deadlines or separate recruitment cycles.

Which posts did SSC CHSL 2025 cover?

The Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination recruited for Group C roles in central government ministries, departments, offices and other listed bodies. The posts included:

  • Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC) and Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), pay Level 2.
  • Data Entry Operator (DEO), pay Levels 4 and 5.
  • DEO Grade A, pay Level 4.

These post and pay-level details are from SSC’s 2025 notice.

What were the main eligibility requirements?

The notice set the general age range at 18–27 years as of 1 January 2026, with category-based age relaxations. Candidates generally needed to have passed 10+2 by 1 January 2026. Certain DEO posts had specific subject requirements at the 10+2 level.

Eligibility depended on the particular post and the candidate’s category. The summary here is not a complete eligibility determination; consult the relevant provisions in the official notice for the exact requirements and relaxations.

How was the examination structured?

The notice described two computer-based tiers. Tier-I tested English, general intelligence, quantitative aptitude and general awareness. Tier-II covered mathematical abilities, reasoning and general intelligence, English language and comprehension, general awareness, computer knowledge, and a skill or typing test depending on the post.

SSC specified negative marking in objective sections, while the skill or typing section was qualifying. Candidates preparing for a future cycle should check that cycle’s official notice for its applicable pattern and rules rather than assuming the 2025 structure carries forward unchanged.

What was the original exam schedule?

SSC’s original schedule placed Tier-I on 8–18 September 2025 and Tier-II in February–March 2026. These are historical scheduled dates. The schedule alone does not establish the latest result, appointment, or candidate-action status as of October 2026.

What should candidates do now?

If you were looking to apply, this cycle is no longer available. For a future SSC CHSL cycle, use the new official notice to confirm its application dates, eligibility, vacancies, exam structure and any post-specific requirements. The 2025 dates and figures above are useful for understanding that cycle, not as instructions or deadlines for a later one.
