SPHERE Technology Solutions announced a $31 million Series B on November 30, 2022. Edison Partners led the round, with existing investor Forgepoint Capital participating. The company said it would use the investment to grow its SaaS identity-hygiene offering, channel ecosystem, alliances, sales, and marketing.
Who invested in SPHERE, and when?
The funding was announced on November 30, 2022—not as a new round today. Edison Partners led the Series B, Forgepoint Capital participated, and Edison general partner Lenard Marcus was set to join SPHERE’s board, according to SPHERE’s announcement.

SecurityWeek reported that the round brought SPHERE’s total funding to $45 million. That cumulative figure is SecurityWeek’s reporting, rather than a total stated in the company announcement. SecurityWeek’s report also covered the round.

SPHERE sells enterprise software and related services for identity hygiene. In this context, “identity” includes the accounts people and services use to access an organization’s systems and data. Identity hygiene means discovering those accounts, understanding their access and protection status, identifying risks such as excessive permissions, and helping organizations address problems.

In its 2022 announcement, SPHERE said its platform covered end-user and privileged-account controls across cloud and on-premises systems, and could remediate open, excessive, and inappropriate access. The company framed those capabilities as support for Zero Trust efforts and compliance; these are SPHERE’s descriptions, not independent verification of security outcomes.
What does SPHEREboard do?
SPHERE’s product materials describe SPHEREboard as supporting identity discovery, ownership and accountability, privileged-account visibility, and remediation. A company overview with 2025 copyright lists offerings that include SPHEREboard for CyberArk PAM, Secure AD, Intelligent Discovery, Accounts+, and SPHEREboard for Data. Product names, packaging, and integrations can change, so that list should be read as a description in those materials rather than a guaranteed current catalog. SPHERE’s product overview provides the company’s descriptions.
A SPHERE Intelligent Discovery brief carrying 2026 copyright says the product scans, inventories, and analyzes accounts to identify protection gaps, establish ownership, and surface access risks. That explains the intended function; the company brief does not independently establish the effectiveness of the product. SPHERE’s Intelligent Discovery page describes the offering.
What did SPHERE say the investment would fund?
SPHERE said the capital would accelerate growth of its SaaS offering and expand its channel ecosystem and alliances, alongside sales and marketing. Founder and CEO Rita Gurevich described the company’s practitioner-led origins this way: “As a company founded and operated by a team of security practitioners, we developed a mission-critical solution well before the market even deemed it mission-critical.” That is Gurevich’s view, quoted in the company’s funding release.
How does the round fit SPHERE’s earlier funding?
Forgepoint Capital says it led a $10 million Series A for SPHERE in 2021. SecurityWeek later reported that the $31 million Series B brought total funding to $45 million. Forgepoint’s case study also recounts the company’s history and names Goldman Sachs, Freddie Mac, and Northwell Health as customers. Those customer references are historical claims from an investor source, not a current, independently verified customer list. Forgepoint’s SPHERE case study gives its account of the company and investment.

The announcement shows that investors backed SPHERE’s plan to expand enterprise identity-hygiene software and its commercial reach in 2022. It does not establish current pricing, a complete integration catalog, or comparative performance against other vendors. Organizations evaluating identity-hygiene tools would need to assess their own requirements, including human and service-account coverage, cloud and on-premises discovery, privileged access, data permissions, remediation workflows, ongoing monitoring, and any managed services they need.
