Schulz Sonoma County Airport (STS) in Santa Rosa, California, on April 7, 2026. Its four inaugural nonstop destinations were San Diego, Las Vegas, Denver, and Burbank. The launch frequencies below are the airline’s original plan, not a guarantee of today’s timetable.
Does Southwest fly to Sonoma County?
Yes. Southwest announced the new Santa Rosa service on September 10, 2025, and said flights began April 7, 2026. STS serves Santa Rosa and Northern California’s Wine Country. Southwest’s announcement described the four inaugural nonstop routes as San Diego, Las Vegas, Denver, and Burbank.
Southwest Chief Operating Officer Andrew Watterson said the addition would provide more access to California’s Wine Country and strengthen the airline’s California network. In its September 2025 announcement, Southwest described STS as its 14th California airport.
What were the four initial routes and how often were they planned to fly?
Southwest’s September 10, 2025 announcement gave these initial operating plans:
#1 Best Overall
| Nonstop destination | Launch-announcement frequency |
|---|---|
| San Diego (SAN) | Daily, with two roundtrips on peak days |
| Las Vegas (LAS) | Daily |
| Burbank (BUR) | Initially five days per week |
| Denver (DEN) | Saturdays only |
These are the frequencies Southwest announced for the route launch; flight schedules can change. Check Southwest’s booking site for the dates you plan to travel.
Is Austin also a Southwest route from Santa Rosa?
Austin was not one of the four inaugural destinations. As of October 8, 2026, the STS passenger FAQ listed Southwest service to Denver, Burbank, San Diego, and Las Vegas, and said Austin service would begin in October 2026. The FAQ does not give Austin’s exact start date or flight frequency.

Southwest’s April 7, 2026 service-start release announced a Sip and Ship offer: customers could check one case of wine at no cost from select West Coast locations, with the offer starting later that month. The announcement does not establish whether the offer or its terms remain in effect, so confirm current conditions directly with Southwest before relying on it.
