Southwest listed selected one-way Basic fares from $59 on certain routes and dates when checked on October 4, 2026. But those listings do not establish that a new systemwide sale is ending soon. A separate featured $59 offer had a September 10 booking deadline, which has already passed.
Which Southwest flights are listed from $59?
Southwest’s flight-deals page showed one-way Basic fares from $59 on specific city pairs and dates. Examples included Los Angeles (LAX) to Las Vegas (LAS) on a listed October 2026 date and Sacramento (SMF) to San Diego (SAN) on listed October and December dates. The airline’s offer listings also showed $59 examples from Atlanta to Houston, Orlando, Tampa, St. Louis, and New Orleans on selected October dates. These are route-and-date snapshots, not prices guaranteed for every traveler or itinerary.

Southwest says fares displayed on its deals page were collected within the previous 24 hours and may no longer be available when you book: Southwest flight deals. Check the live booking result for your exact origin, destination, and travel date before relying on a fare.
When does the Southwest $59 sale end?
The featured $59 offer’s terms required booking by September 10, 2026, for travel from September 29, 2026, through March 3, 2027. As of October 4, 2026, that booking deadline has passed. The terms also specified a 21-day advance-purchase requirement and noted restrictions, exclusions, blackout dates, nonrefundability, and limited seats, days, and markets: Southwest’s featured $59 offer terms.
#1 Best Overall
- The gift that lets them fly to 85+ destinations.
- No fees. No expiration. Ever.
- Gift a getaway because special days deserve special destinations.
- Valid Only For Southwest Airlines Flights
- No returns and no refunds on gift cards.
The current route-level listings do not establish that they are part of that expired promotion, or that a separate live sale has a new end date. Treat “ends soon” as unverified unless Southwest publishes current terms with a booking deadline.
How to check whether a $59 fare works for your trip
- Search your exact route and date. Use Southwest’s flight search or deals page and confirm the displayed fare in the booking results.
- Compare nearby dates. Southwest recommends its Low Fare Calendar for comparing days in a market.
- Check the fare type and terms. The cited examples are labeled one-way/Basic. Review the conditions shown for the fare you select, including any restrictions that apply to that booking.
- Compare the complete trip cost. If you need a return flight, check the round-trip total as well as the one-way price. Account for any optional products or services you choose; additional fees or charges may apply.
- Verify restrictions before paying. If a fare is tied to a promotion, check its deadline, advance-purchase rule, travel window, blackout dates, and availability for your itinerary.
Why the displayed price may not be available
Discounted fares may not be offered on every flight, date, or route, and qualifying seats can sell out. Southwest’s sale guidance explains these limitations and points travelers to the Low Fare Calendar for date comparisons: Southwest sale and special-offer guidance. Optional products and services may add charges, and Southwest advises checking its site for updated fares: Southwest Airlines.
