South Air began scheduled domestic flights in Pakistan on July 16, 2026, with inaugural services from Karachi to Quetta via Turbat and from Karachi to Islamabad via Bahawalpur. The launch schedule was limited, and South Air’s route map now lists more destinations than those inaugural services. However, the airline’s official page says ticket sales are opening soon, so a route listing is not confirmation that a flight is currently operating or bookable.
When did South Air start flights?
South Air’s inaugural scheduled flights departed Karachi on July 16, 2026, according to the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), as reported by Dawn. The PAA described the flights as an addition to Jinnah International Airport’s domestic network.
The initial schedule reported by the PAA was one weekly Karachi–Quetta flight via Turbat and three weekly Karachi–Islamabad flights via Bahawalpur. Those are launch-period frequencies, not a verified current timetable.
Which cities does South Air list?
South Air’s official route map shows connections involving Islamabad, Sukkur, Quetta, Karachi, Bahawalpur, Lahore, Peshawar, Turbat, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan and Gwadar. The map covers a broader network than the two routes highlighted at launch; it does not establish that every listed connection is currently operating.

At launch, the PAA also said South Air planned additional Karachi services to Peshawar, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur and Gwadar. That report described planned services, not confirmation of their subsequent start.
Can you book South Air flights now?
South Air’s route page currently says: “South Air is launching its sales soon through its official website, ticketing offices, and renowned travel agencies!” That notice means the launch announcement and route map alone do not confirm that tickets are on sale.
Before arranging travel, check South Air’s official channels for the specific route and date, current fare, seat availability and operating schedule. The airline’s sales notice is time-sensitive and may change.
What routes are planned but not confirmed?
In a June 1, 2026 report, Dawn quoted South Air chairman Kanwar Muhammad Tariq saying the airline planned daily flights to Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan) and regular flights to Chitral. Those were future plans stated at that time; the report does not confirm that either service began.

What else was announced about the launch?
Business Recorder reported that South Air’s launch aircraft were ATR 72-600s. The report also described a memorandum of understanding with Dream World Destination Hotels and Golf Course concerning proposed travel packages, discounts and tourism promotion. It does not establish the airline’s current fleet size or that those packages are available to book.
South Air says it was founded in 2025, is backed by SOS Group and aims to connect smaller cities and underserved communities with economic and cultural centres. Those are the company’s own descriptions, presented on its about page.
