The Eureka, Missouri park formerly known as Six Flags St. Louis announced on August 27, 2026, that it would operate as Mid America Adventure. The change followed its move into the Enchanted Parks portfolio earlier in 2026. Although online reactions have varied, the available evidence does not establish that Americans broadly are divided over the new name.
What changed—and when
The park announced its new name and updated logo on August 27, 2026. It had continued using the Six Flags name during the transition because Six Flags said the parks involved in the sale would retain that branding through the end of the 2026 season.

The new name also reaches back to the park’s original identity, Six Flags Over Mid-America. The St. Louis American reported that the change marked the first time since the park opened in 1971 that it would operate without the Six Flags name.
Why did the park change its name?
The name change followed an operator transition, not an announced change to the park’s rides or guest experience. Six Flags said EPR Properties would partner with Enchanted Parks for six U.S. parks and La Ronde Operations for La Ronde. It also said the parks would continue normal operations through the 2026 season, with EPR retaining the right to use the Six Flags brand during that period.

Park president Danny Snider said, “Earlier this year we became part of the Enchanted Parks family of theme parks.” Enchanted Parks CEO James Harhi described the rebrand as “the next step in our ongoing investment in this park and community.” The park presented the Mid America name as a way to honor its history while establishing an identity under its new portfolio.
Does the name change really divide Americans?
That framing goes further than the evidence supports. A surfaced Reddit discussion showed a range of individual reactions, but an online thread is anecdotal, not a representative poll. No representative survey or systematic public-opinion study establishing nationwide division over this particular rebrand is identified in the available reporting.

Some longtime visitors may feel attached to the Six Flags name, while others may welcome a return to the park’s Mid-America heritage. Those are plausible individual responses, not proof of a broad national split.
What passholders needed to know during the transition
Six Flags said eligible 2026 passes and active memberships purchased before the sale would remain valid for the 2026 operating season, including stated multi-park privileges. Those were transition-era terms, not a guarantee about later seasons; visitors should check the park’s current pass conditions before relying on an older pass or membership.

In its August 27 announcement, Mid America Adventure introduced Hero and Legend passes for 2027. The park said both tiers included admission to the theme park and water park, general parking, in-park discounts, and the option to buy a 10-meal package. It also said those passes could be used for the remainder of the 2026 season, including Fright Fest. The announcement listed a starting price of $75 per pass; that is the dated launch price, not a current quote. Check the park for current pricing, availability, and benefits.

In its August 27 announcement, the park described Mid America Adventure as having 10 roller coasters, a 12-acre water park, and a children’s section. It said the water park includes slides, a lazy river, a children’s area, and a 30,000-square-foot wave pool. These are figures from the park’s own announcement, rather than independently verified measurements.
