Singapore Airlines is scheduled to replace the Airbus A380 on Singapore–Frankfurt flight SQ326/325 with a Boeing 777-300ER from 25 October 2026. The Frankfurt route is continuing; this is an aircraft change, not a cancellation. The A380 is scheduled to move to Singapore–Auckland SQ285/286 from the same date.
What changes on Singapore–Frankfurt
The A380 is listed on SQ326/325 through 24 October 2026. From 25 October, the planned aircraft for those flights is a Boeing 777-300ER, according to Mainly Miles’ route analysis dated 28 September 2026. The change takes effect at the start of Singapore Airlines’ Northern Winter 2026 season, which runs from 25 October 2026 through 27 March 2027.
The route itself remains in service. Singapore Airlines’ other Frankfurt service, SQ330/329, is scheduled to return to as many as six weekly flights from the season’s start, using a mix of A350 long-haul and 777-300ER aircraft. SQ26/25, which continues between Singapore and New York via Frankfurt, is also listed as a 777-300ER service.
Where the A380 is scheduled to fly instead
Mainly Miles reports that the A380 is scheduled to operate Singapore–Auckland SQ285/286 from 25 October 2026. Singapore–Auckland SQ281/282 is listed as a 777-300ER service. These are schedule assignments, not guarantees that an aircraft will operate on a particular day.

What travelers should check
If flying to Frankfurt specifically to experience the A380, check the aircraft listed for the exact flight number and travel date before booking. Singapore Airlines advises customers on its A380 information page to check the schedule and aircraft type during booking for the latest details. Recheck the booking and schedule closer to departure as well: aircraft assignments can change, and a booked cabin or aircraft is not assured to remain unchanged.
Compare the flight number and departure time as well as the displayed aircraft. If cabin availability or configuration matters to your choice, verify it in the current booking rather than assuming it will match another flight or a previous schedule. Also confirm whether your itinerary is nonstop or includes a connection; SQ26/25, for example, continues onward to New York.

Why Singapore Airlines is making the change
The published schedule information establishes the aircraft change and the planned Auckland deployment, but it does not establish Singapore Airlines’ commercial reasoning for removing the A380 from Frankfurt. The airline’s 28 January 2026 announcement had earlier planned A380 service to Dubai for Northern Summer 2026; its 14 May 2026 release later reported that Dubai services had been suspended from 28 February amid the Middle East geopolitical situation. That context does not, by itself, explain the Frankfurt decision.

Mainly Miles’ 28 September 2026 report lists seven A380 destinations for the full Northern Winter 2026/27 season: Auckland, Delhi, London Heathrow, Melbourne, Mumbai, Shanghai and Sydney. It reports 126 weekly A380 flights for that season, compared with 98 weekly flights for most of the preceding winter and 112 in February and March 2026. These are figures reported by Mainly Miles, not an airline-published capacity statistic.
