“Strong Sell” is the wording in a MarketsMojo equity-rating page title for Shree Digvijay Cement Co. Ltd. Its search snippet says the fundamentals, returns and financial metrics reflect the company’s position as of June 3, 2026. The full page was unavailable, so its rating date, methodology, price target, forecast and time horizon cannot be confirmed. A separate CRISIL downgrade announced July 22, 2026 concerns the company’s creditworthiness and bank facilities—not whether investors should buy or sell its shares.
What the “Strong Sell” label does—and does not—tell you
The phrase belongs to a MarketsMojo equity-rating page titled “Shree Digvijay Cement Co. Ltd is Rated Strong Sell.” The available search snippet says its discussion of fundamentals, returns and financial metrics is based on the company’s position as of June 3, 2026. Because the page itself could not be retrieved, the label should be treated as a reported rating, not as a fully verified or current investment case. That limitation matters: an equity rating is an analyst or publisher’s view of a stock, while a credit rating assesses the issuer’s ability to meet debt obligations or the credit quality of specified facilities. They use different scales and answer different questions. A credit downgrade may be relevant context for a shareholder, but it does not independently establish that the shares are a “sell.”

CRISIL’s July 2026 action was a credit downgrade
On July 22, 2026, CRISIL downgraded Shree Digvijay Cement’s long-term rating to CRISIL A-/Stable from CRISIL A/Negative and its short-term rating to CRISIL A2+ from CRISIL A1. These are CRISIL credit ratings for the company’s rated facilities, not an equity recommendation. CRISIL’s rationale and the instruments covered are described in its July 22, 2026 rating rationale.

- EASY TO USE: Ready to use! Just add water, mix, and use!
- MULTIPLE SURFACES: Handrails, bolts, poles, fixtures, and more

Why leverage rose
CRISIL attributed the increased debt burden in part to a 10-year exclusive usage, supply and distributorship agreement with Hi-Bond Cement (India) Pvt Ltd. The arrangement involved a ₹400 crore security deposit, funded primarily through ₹356 crore in term debt. CRISIL reported overall gearing of 1.50x and total outside liabilities to adjusted net worth (TOLANW) of 2.03x at March 31, 2026, compared with 0.31x and 0.95x, respectively, a year earlier.
Profitability, competition and offsets
The agency also cited subdued profitability and pricing pressure, competition, raw-material cost volatility, and the cement industry’s commodity characteristics and cyclicality. It pointed to counterbalancing factors: the company’s established position in western India, stable scale, improved working capital and strong liquidity. CRISIL cited an expectation of no planned long-term debt and profit accretion, while identifying sustained operating-profitability improvement alongside a prudent capital structure as important rating sensitivities.

CRISIL’s stated sensitivity factors include an operating margin above 15% and TOLANW below 1x as potential upward-rating factors. Operating profit below 9% in coming quarters, a significant working-capital stretch or debt-funded capital expenditure are listed as potential downward factors. These are agency thresholds and scenarios for its credit assessment—not forecasts, guarantees or share-price targets.

Its FY2025 operating-income comparator differs from the audited filing’s revenue-from-operations figure of ₹725.19 crore; these are reported measures from different documents and should not be conflated. CRISIL also reports adjusted debt to adjusted net worth of 1.5x for FY2026, reflecting the higher leverage following the deposit financing.

How to assess the rating as an investor
The available information supports a cautious distinction rather than a simple verdict: the “Strong Sell” wording is a MarketsMojo equity label whose underlying analysis and horizon cannot be checked here, while CRISIL’s later downgrade documents higher leverage and continuing profitability and industry risks. The credit action is relevant evidence about debt and financial risk, but it is not a substitute for a current share valuation or a complete equity analysis.
Quick Recap
- Identify the source, date and scale of any rating. Do not compare a stock recommendation directly with a credit grade.
- Check the underlying earnings and cash-flow trend, not revenue alone; the audited figures show slightly lower FY2026 profit despite higher revenue.
- Track debt and capital allocation after the security deposit borrowing, as well as whether profitability improves without renewed leverage or working-capital strain.
- Use the latest company filings and rating rationale available at the time of an investment decision. The cited equity snippet’s metrics date to June 3, 2026, and the company announcement index includes a future-dated board meeting notice rather than its outcome.
