Seraphic Security announced a $29 million Series A on January 30, 2025, to develop its browser-security product and expand in North America and EMEA. GreatPoint Ventures led the round, joined by CrowdStrike’s Falcon Fund and existing investors. The company later became part of CrowdStrike: the cybersecurity company reported completing its acquisition of Seraphic’s remaining 90.6% equity interest on February 3, 2026.

Who invested in Seraphic’s $29 million round?

Seraphic announced the Series A on January 30, 2025. GreatPoint Ventures led the financing. Participants included the CrowdStrike Falcon Fund and existing investors Planven, Cota Capital, Storm Ventures, Eastlink and Secure Octane. Seraphic said it would use the money to advance its product roadmap and expand in North America and EMEA. Seraphic’s announcement and SecurityWeek’s report covered the round that day.

The announcement also said Seraphic’s annual recurring revenue had increased 300% year over year and that Fortune 500 adoption was growing. That is a company-reported growth figure: the release did not specify the comparison period or disclose revenue amounts. It is not a measure of profit, cash raised or customer count.

A separate 2024 Frost & Sullivan report said Seraphic had acquired more than 60 customers within two years of launch. That customer count is distinct from the company’s ARR-growth claim.

What was Seraphic selling to enterprise customers?

Seraphic’s pitch was to secure browser activity without requiring an organization to replace its users’ browsers with a dedicated secure browser. The company described a patented abstraction layer that monitors, randomizes and secures the browser, with protection and detection capabilities. It said the approach could cover browsers and SaaS desktop applications, and support access to SaaS and private web apps from managed and personal devices.

The intended business case was to add browser security while reducing reliance on virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and the complexity of virtual private network (VPN) access. SecurityWeek described the company’s claims as addressing zero-day browser exploits, phishing and other browser-based attacks without requiring a separate secure browser or rerouting traffic. These are descriptions of the product’s positioning, not independent findings that it prevents attacks or outperforms alternatives.

Why the browser mattered to the investment thesis

As organizations rely on web-based software and employees work across locations and devices, the browser becomes a route to business applications and data—and a potential point of exposure. Seraphic and its investors argued that securing this layer could complement other enterprise security controls. Their statements show the rationale behind the financing, but they are interested parties rather than independent assessments. In the funding release, Seraphic CEO and co-founder Ilan Yeshua called the investment recognition of demand for mitigating browser vulnerabilities while reducing security-architecture cost and complexity. CrowdStrike President Michael Sentonas said browsers had become a critical attack surface as SaaS use and hybrid work grew. GreatPoint Ventures Managing Partner Ray Lane said browsers dominate enterprise work but are not secure enough.

How did Seraphic’s product develop?

Frost & Sullivan’s 2024 report described products Seraphic released in 2023: an embedded browser for unmanaged devices, an Electron agent for collaboration and productivity tools, a mobile product for Android and iPhone, and a transparent proxy. It discussed potential use cases for organizations with SSE/SASE (security service edge/secure access service edge), organizations with endpoint detection and response (EDR) but no SSE/SASE, and buyers considering alternatives to remote browser isolation. This is a dated account of product history and use cases, not a verified current feature checklist.

The report said Seraphic had secured four patents and had 17 additional patent applications at different stages. The applications should not be counted as granted patents.

What happened to Seraphic after the funding round?

CrowdStrike reported in a SEC filing for the period ended July 31, 2026 that it completed its acquisition of the remaining 90.6% equity interest in Seraphic Algorithms Ltd. on February 3, 2026. CrowdStrike’s Falcon Funds had held the other 9.4% before the acquisition. The 2025 financing therefore should not be read as the latest ownership news or as leaving Seraphic independent.

The filing reports $327.5 million in cash consideration, net of $1.1 million in cash and restricted cash acquired, plus $13.7 million in fair value for replacement equity awards tied to pre-acquisition service. These are components described in the filing, not a simple, unqualified headline purchase price; the filing also notes that the purchase-price allocation and related accounting estimates were preliminary.

How should buyers assess enterprise browser security?

SecurityWeek’s January 2025 report named Surf, SlashNext, LayerX and Red Access among competitors and described a broader choice between dedicated enterprise browsers, security layers designed to work with existing browsers, and capabilities offered by larger platform vendors. That is a dated market snapshot, not a complete competitor list for 2026. The sources cited here do not provide current independent product scores or apples-to-apples testing, so buyers should compare products against their own environment and requirements.

The sources reviewed do not establish a specific, independently published market-size estimate for enterprise browser security. A broad claim that the market is worth “billions” should not be treated as substantiated by these sources.
