SentinelOne announced a $267 million Series F on November 11, 2020, led by Tiger Global Management. The cybersecurity company said the financing valued it at more than $3 billion—over three times the $1.1 billion valuation it reported for its Series E nine months earlier.

How much did SentinelOne raise in 2020?

SentinelOne announced a $267 million Series F on November 11, 2020. Tiger Global Management led the round; Sequoia Capital Global Equities, Insight Partners, and Third Point Ventures also participated, according to SentinelOne’s announcement.

What was SentinelOne valued at after the round?

The company said the Series F put its valuation above $3 billion. That was a company-reported valuation at the time of the financing, not a current valuation or an independently verified estimate.

How did the Series F compare with the previous round?

In February 2020, SentinelOne announced a $200 million Series E at a stated valuation of $1.1 billion. The company said its valuation had more than tripled by the November Series F.

Round Announcement date Funding Stated valuation
Series E February 19, 2020 $200 million $1.1 billion
Series F November 11, 2020 $267 million More than $3 billion

Both valuation figures come from SentinelOne’s own announcements: its February Series E release and November Series F release.

What did SentinelOne say was driving the financing?

SentinelOne attributed its growth to demand for its Singularity XDR platform. That was the company’s stated explanation in its November 2020 announcement, not an independent assessment of product performance or market demand.

The pandemic-era shift to remote work was also part of the context. Reuters quoted CEO Tomer Weingarten saying, “COVID-19 was an accelerant in our space. We all went home with our devices and became a complete distributed workforce overnight.” The comment describes his view of the period, not a measured explanation of the financing. Reuters’ contemporaneous report covered the remarks.

Who led and participated in the Series F?

  • Lead investor: Tiger Global Management.
  • Other participants: Sequoia Capital Global Equities, Insight Partners, and Third Point Ventures.

Weingarten, SentinelOne’s CEO and co-founder, said at the time: “We have set the standard for AI-powered cybersecurity for the new normal.” This was his promotional characterization of the company’s offering, not an independently established product comparison.

Why do reports give different totals for capital raised?

Contemporaneous coverage did not agree on SentinelOne’s cumulative funding. TechCrunch reported $430 million raised to date, while SecurityWeek reported $696.5 million. The figures cannot be reconciled from those reports, so neither should be treated here as a definitive total. The specific Series F amount announced by SentinelOne was $267 million.
