SECP said the cumulative number of registered companies reached 102,864 after those registrations. The 41% figure describes monthly year-over-year growth in July 2019, not a current growth rate.
What the 41% increase means
In its August 21, 2019 release, SECP reported that July’s 1,525 registrations were 41% higher than in the corresponding month of the previous financial year. This is a comparison of new registrations across two months; it is not the change in Pakistan’s total registered-company count over a year.

The 102,864 figure is the cumulative number of registered companies SECP reported after July’s additions. It is not the number of companies registered during July.
What kinds of companies registered
SECP said around 71% of the companies registered in July 2019 were private limited companies and around 25% were single-member companies. These are shares of that month’s registrations, not growth rates. Around 96% of the registrations used SECP’s online facility.

Why SECP said registrations increased
SECP attributed the increase to a series of recent reforms. Its release did not quantify the effect of individual measures, so the reported growth cannot be assigned to any one reform based on that statement alone.

The percentage depends on the period and what is being measured. SECP reported 1,956 new companies in November 2020, also up 41% year over year. In September 2024, it reported 2,617 registrations and 5.7% year-over-year growth; the 41% figure in that release referred instead to the share of registrations that were single-member companies.
Later fiscal-year figures use a different time span. Business Recorder reported that 43,559 companies registered in FY2025–26, up 24% from the previous fiscal year, and that trading accounted for 41% of new registrations that year. That sector share is not the July 2019 monthly growth rate.
