The company offered 30 million ordinary shares—29.67% of its post-IPO paid-up capital—and began trading on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on 10 February 2026. PSX reported that the book-building stage was oversubscribed 21 times and the public offering 9.6 times.
What SECP approved—and what that approval means
SECP announced its approval of the issuance, circulation and publication of the prospectus for Pak-Qatar General Takaful Limited (PQGTL) on 7 January 2026. The prospectus approval was a regulatory step in the IPO process, not an assessment or recommendation of the shares. The prospectus says investors should make their own independent investigation and that the document is not investment advice. SECP’s announcement and the prospectus set out the relevant notices.
How many shares were offered?
The IPO covered 30,000,000 ordinary shares, which SECP described as 29.67% of PQGTL’s post-IPO paid-up capital. A PSX notice dated 3 December 2025, issued while the draft prospectus was open for public comments, stated a PKR 10 par value, a PKR 10 floor price for book building, and a maximum price band of up to 40%. Those are the notice’s stated parameters; they should not be read as confirmation of the final discovered IPO price. PSX’s public-comments notice contains those draft-stage terms.

#1 Best Overall
How oversubscribed was the IPO?
In its listing announcement on 10 February 2026, PSX reported different demand multiples for the two stages: book building was oversubscribed 21 times, while the public offering was oversubscribed 9.6 times. These are PSX-reported figures and describe separate parts of the offering, not a single combined oversubscription rate. PSX’s listing announcement reported both figures.
PSX described the listing as making PQGTL “Pakistan’s first Dedicated Non-Life Takaful Operator to go public.” That is the exchange’s characterization of the milestone, rather than an independent market ranking.

What investors should check beyond the headline figures
The subscription multiples and listing date do not establish whether the shares are suitable for a particular investor. The prospectus is the primary document for the final offer price, share allocations, use of proceeds, risk factors and financial statements. The terms in the December public-comments notice are not a substitute for those final offering details.
PSX identifies PQGTL under ticker PQGTL and describes its business as general takaful. Its issuer profile also displays a warning about continuous violations of specified PSX regulations and the risk of trading suspension or delisting. The profile text reviewed does not explain the underlying violations, so investors should check the current exchange notice and issuer filings for details. PSX cautions that its page data may not be complete or timely and should not, by itself, be sufficient for an investment decision. The PSX issuer profile is the place to check for current exchange information.
