The notice also listed horizontal reservation for one PwBD candidate with blindness/low vision and one ex-serviceman. These horizontal reservations are not additional vacancies on top of the 25 vertical-category posts.
What was the eligibility for SCL Assistant?
Applicants had to be Indian nationals, hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university, and be proficient in computer use. Experience in an educational or research institute or a government office was desirable, not an essential qualification.

The maximum age was 25 years on the application closing date. The advertisement provided upper-age relaxations, including five years for SC/ST candidates and three years for OBC candidates, as well as category-specific provisions for PwBD candidates, ex-servicemen, specified employees of autonomous societies and eligible central government employees. Eligibility for each relaxation depended on the conditions in the official notice; the age rules should not be treated as a single blanket extension.

The Assistant post was in Level 4 of the 7th Central Pay Commission, with a pay scale of ₹25,500–₹81,100. The notice specified initial basic pay of ₹25,500 per month, plus applicable dearness allowance, house-rent allowance for employees not using SCL housing, and transport allowance.

The notice also listed National Pension System coverage and benefits subject to applicable norms, including medical facilities for employees and dependents, a subsidized canteen, and leave travel concession. The advertisement described an OMR-based written examination and said it was tentatively planned for March 2025. That was a tentative date in the original notice, not confirmation of the examination date that actually took place. The notice identified New Delhi and Chandigarh/Mohali/Panchkula as examination locations; SCL said it would try to accommodate candidates at their chosen centres but could change or reassign centres.
