Samsung’s 40-Inch Odyssey G7 G75F Was $899.99 in a 2025 Prime Day Deal; Later Prices Fell Further

The 2025 $899.99 Prime Day-era deal is historical. Later reports put the 40-inch Samsung Odyssey G7 G75F lower, but neither a live offer nor an all-time low is verified.

The Samsung Odyssey G7 G75F is a 40-inch, 5K2K ultrawide gaming monitor, but the “lowest price ahead of Prime Day” headline refers to a deal from 2025—not a live offer. PC Guide reported it at $899.99, down from a stated $1,199.99, on June 23, 2025. Later price reports were lower: Best Buy pages showed $649.99 and $699.99, and Slickdeals reported an Amazon price of $630.23 on July 5, 2026. Those listings do not establish today’s price or an all-time low, so check the final price and condition before buying.

What was the deal, and is it still available?

The original deal coverage said the 40-inch Samsung Odyssey G7 G75F, model LS40FG75DENXZA, had dropped from a stated $1,199.99 to $899.99—a $300, or 25%, reduction. Its price note was dated June 23, 2025; the article was later updated September 29, 2025. The “ahead of Prime Day” framing belongs to that 2025 context, not a current sale. PC Guide’s archived deal coverage called $899.99 the lowest price, but did not provide enough price-history evidence to verify an all-time low.

Later listings suggest the monitor has been offered below that historical deal price. Best Buy pages showed $699.99 and $649.99 in separate recent crawls, while Slickdeals reported an Amazon price of $630.23 on July 5, 2026. These are dated price signals, not a confirmed live quote: retailer prices can vary with location, stock, seller, condition, or promotion. Best Buy’s product page, a second Best Buy listing, and the Slickdeals report do not prove that any of those prices is available now or was the lowest ever.

For a purchase decision, treat roughly $650–$700 for a new unit as an attractive price signal based on those later reports, not a guarantee or a verified market-wide benchmark. Before checkout, confirm the exact model, new versus open-box condition, seller, shipping, return terms, warranty, and final cart price.

Samsung 40” Odyssey G7 (G75F) Series WUHD Curved Gaming Monitor
  • Samsung’s 40” Odyssey G7 G75 WUHD 180Hz Curved Gaming Monitor provides breathtaking realism for epic gameplay.
  • 40” 1000R curved display with a 21:9 screen and brilliant Ultrawide 4K resolution wraps around the field of vision for next-level gaming.
  • VESA DisplayHDR 600 delivers more contrast, with deeper blacks and brighter whites for greater clarity even in dark scenes.
  • 180Hz refresh rate and near-instant 1ms response time (GtG) minimizes lag for ultra-smooth gameplay.

What the Odyssey G7 G75F offers

Samsung identifies the G75F as a 40-inch, 21:9 curved display with a native resolution of 5,120 × 2,160 pixels, commonly called 5K2K or WUHD. That is wider than standard 4K UHD, which is 3,840 × 2,160, while preserving the same vertical pixel count. The VA panel runs at up to 180Hz and has a pronounced 1000R curve. Samsung lists AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and VESA DisplayHDR 600 support. Samsung’s product page has the model’s core display specifications.

  • Resolution and space: 5K2K provides room for broad game environments, editing timelines, multiple documents, and side-by-side windows.
  • Refresh rate: The 180Hz maximum can make motion look smoother when the computer can deliver high frame rates. A 1ms response-time figure is a listed specification, not proof of OLED-like motion clarity across every pixel transition.
  • Curve: The 1000R curvature is intended to bring the edges of the large screen toward the viewer. Some people find it immersive; others may prefer a flatter display, especially for design or shared viewing.
  • HDR: DisplayHDR 600 support enables HDR content, but the monitor is a VA LCD, not an OLED. The certification alone does not establish OLED-level blacks, contrast, or freedom from blooming.
  • Multiple sources: The specification sheet lists Picture-by-Picture and Picture-in-Picture features, which can be useful when using more than one computer or device. The product specification sheet also details connections and physical dimensions.

Ports, fit, and practical limitations

The listed inputs are two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4 port. The monitor also has one USB-B upstream connection and two USB-A downstream ports, but no USB-C and no built-in speakers. It supports 100 × 100 VESA mounting; the stand adjusts for height, tilt, and swivel. The specification sheet lists approximate dimensions of 36.5 × 23.5 × 11.9 inches with the stand, so measure both desk width and depth before ordering.

Samsung 40-in Odyssey G7 G75F 4K 180Hz Curved Monitor + 13-Month Axiom Care
  • This bundle includes a 13-month Axiom care plan extension, beyond the original factory plan.
  • Display built for everyday desktop use
  • Standard HDMI and DisplayPort connectivity
  • Adjustable stand for a comfortable viewing angle

A 5,120 × 2,160 image at 180Hz is demanding. The monitor’s maximum refresh rate does not mean a given PC or game will reach 180 frames per second at native resolution. Check the graphics card’s output support, the input and cable you plan to use, the resolution-and-refresh combinations available through that connection, and expected frame rates in your games. In demanding titles, lower settings or a reduced resolution may be needed to improve performance.

Because this is a VA panel, viewing-angle behavior and dark-scene motion can be trade-offs compared with other panel types. Best Buy review summaries include customer comments about viewing angles, but those are buyer experiences rather than controlled tests. The large curved screen is best evaluated from the central seating position if possible.

Who should buy it—and who should wait?

It may suit you if

  • You want one large ultrawide for high-end PC gaming and productivity rather than a pair of displays.
  • You play simulation, strategy, open-world, or other games that benefit from a wide view, and your PC can handle the resolution.
  • You value high refresh rate and workspace more than OLED contrast.
  • You are comfortable with a strong curve and have enough room for a nearly 37-inch-wide monitor.
  • You can use Picture-by-Picture or Picture-in-Picture with multiple devices.

Look elsewhere if

  • OLED contrast and motion performance are priorities, or you need a display independently tested for color-critical professional work.
  • You need USB-C video, laptop charging, a docking setup, or built-in speakers.
  • Your desk is small, you sit off-center, or you prefer a flat or gently curved panel.
  • Your graphics card is not suited to high-resolution gaming and you do not want to reduce settings or resolution.
  • The price is near the historical $899.99 deal level: without a current comparison, that is less compelling than the later reported prices around $630–$700.

How to judge the price before checkout

  1. Match the listing to model LS40FG75DENXZA; similarly named Odyssey monitors can have different sizes and specifications.
  2. Confirm that the displayed offer is for a new unit if that is what you want. Best Buy shows open-box options separately, and a lower price may reflect condition or seller differences.
  3. Review the seller, shipping cost, local availability, return policy, and manufacturer-warranty terms before comparing prices.
  4. Check the final cart total. Do not treat $630.23, $649.99, or $699.99 as a current offer unless the retailer confirms that price for your location and selected condition.

At around $650–$700 for a new monitor, the G75F’s combination of 40-inch size, 5K2K resolution, and 180Hz is compelling for the right high-end PC setup. The value is less clear near $900, given its VA-panel trade-offs, missing USB-C and speakers, large footprint, and demanding graphics requirements. The evidence supports describing $899.99 as a historical deal and citing lower later price reports; it does not support calling any figure the all-time low.
