The Galaxy S26 series is no longer a rumor: Samsung announced the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra on February 25, 2026, and set March 11 as their general-availability date. At U.S. launch, starting prices were $899.99, $1,099.99 and $1,299.99, respectively. Samsung’s U.K. launch RRPs were £879, £1,099 and £1,279. These are historical launch figures, not guaranteed prices today.
What happened to the January forecast?
TechRadar published the title-matching forecast on January 12, 2026, while the release timing and prices were still predictions amid conflicting rumors. Samsung’s February 25 announcement settled the launch date and launch pricing. The forecast should now be read as a pre-launch snapshot, not as current buying guidance.
Galaxy S26 launch dates and starting prices
Samsung announced the three phones on February 25, 2026. It said general availability would begin March 11 in both the U.S. and U.K. The prices below are launch starting prices: U.S. figures are from Samsung’s U.S. announcement, while U.K. figures are its U.K. launch RRPs.
| Model | U.S. launch starting price | U.K. launch RRP |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S26 | $899.99 | £879 |
| Galaxy S26+ | $1,099.99 | £1,099 |
| Galaxy S26 Ultra | $1,299.99 | £1,279 |
These are separate regional launch figures, not currency conversions or like-for-like quotes for every storage configuration. A starting price also does not establish the price of a higher-capacity model.

Did Galaxy S26 prices rise after launch?
Reports published October 1, 2026, by Tom’s Guide and Android Central described later U.S. price increases, including a reported $100 increase for some 256GB configurations. Those reports are secondary coverage; the available evidence does not include a primary Samsung announcement confirming the changes. Do not treat the reported increase as applying to every model or configuration, or as proof of the price currently charged by a retailer.
For a purchase decision, check Samsung’s or the retailer’s live listing for the exact model, storage capacity, country and date. Compare that figure with the launch starting price only after confirming that both refer to the same configuration. Promotions, stock and retailer pricing can change, and the launch figures above do not establish today’s transaction price.

What the forecast can—and cannot—tell a buyer
The central forecast questions now have historical answers: Samsung announced the series on February 25 and general availability began March 11, 2026. Launch prices are also established for the U.S. and U.K. But the later reports do not settle current pricing across retailers, storage tiers or regions. Samsung named Amazon Stores among the U.S. preorder channels at launch; that does not confirm current stock, a current listing price or any buying-program terms.
