The Samsung Galaxy A56 5G was reported to start at ₹41,999 in India, while the Galaxy A36 5G was reported to start at ₹32,999. SamMobile published the figures on March 3, 2025, citing an image posted on X by Abhishek Yadav. Samsung India later confirmed the same standard prices on March 3, so the leak was accurate—but the figures below are historical launch prices, not guaranteed current prices in 2026.
Leaked India prices for the Galaxy A56 5G
The reported Galaxy A56 5G prices covered three RAM and storage configurations:

|---|---|
| 8GB + 128GB | ₹41,999 |
| 8GB + 256GB | ₹44,999 |
| 12GB + 256GB | ₹47,999 |
These figures were reported by SamMobile, which attributed them to an image shared by Abhishek Yadav on X. The image was not a Samsung announcement.

| Variant | Leaked India price |
|---|---|
| 8GB + 128GB | ₹32,999 |
| 8GB + 256GB | ₹35,999 |
| 12GB + 256GB | ₹38,999 |
The leak placed the A56 exactly ₹9,000 above the A36 at each corresponding storage tier. That consistent price ladder, along with the complete three-variant structure for both phones, made the figures plausible. They still required caution because Samsung had not yet confirmed the India prices, launch date, channel availability or promotional offers when the leak appeared.

Update: Samsung later confirmed the leaked prices
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A56 5G, Galaxy A36 5G and Galaxy A26 5G globally on March 2, 2025, according to its global announcement. Samsung India followed with its India launch announcement on March 3.
The official India list prices matched the leaked figures exactly:
| Phone | 8GB + 128GB | 8GB + 256GB | 12GB + 256GB |
|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy A56 5G | ₹41,999 | ₹44,999 | ₹47,999 |
| Galaxy A36 5G | ₹32,999 | ₹35,999 | ₹38,999 |
That confirms the accuracy of the numbers, but it does not make the original social-media image an official source. The prices became official only when Samsung India published them.

|---|---|---|
| 8GB + 128GB | ₹32,999 | ₹32,999 |

| 12GB + 256GB | ₹38,999 | ₹35,999 |
The storage upgrade was a launch promotion, not a permanent reduction in the phones’ list prices. Samsung also advertised one-year screen protection through Samsung Care+ for ₹999 instead of ₹2,999, up to 18 months of no-cost EMI for the A56, up to 16 months for the A36, and an Amazon voucher worth up to ₹400 for eligible Samsung Wallet transactions. These benefits were separate from the phone prices and should not be assumed to remain available.
Specifications behind the ₹9,000 gap
At launch, both phones shared several core features: a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with up to a 120Hz refresh rate, a 5,000mAh battery, 45W wired charging, IP67 protection and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+. Both launched with Android 15 and One UI 7.
Samsung also promised six generations of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates for each model. Those are separate commitments; they do not mean every future feature will be identical across the two phones or available in every region.
| Feature | Galaxy A56 5G | Galaxy A36 5G |
|---|---|---|
| Chipset | Exynos 1580 | Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 |
| Main camera | 50MP with OIS | 50MP with OIS |
| Ultrawide camera | 12MP | 8MP |
| Front camera | 12MP | 12MP |
The A56’s higher-tier chipset and higher-resolution ultrawide camera are the main hardware reasons to pay more. The A36 retains the same display class, battery capacity, charging speed, durability rating and broad software-support promise, making it the more economical choice for buyers who do not need the A56’s additional performance and camera headroom.

- Value trade-off: The A56’s ₹9,000 premium bought a more capable chipset and a higher-resolution ultrawide camera; the A36 preserved many of the shared essentials at a lower price.
Availability and current-price warning
Samsung India said the phones would be available through Samsung.com, Samsung exclusive stores, partner stores and other online platforms. However, availability can vary by model, location and sales channel.
These are March 2025 launch prices. They should not be presented as current August or September 2026 retail prices. Discounts, exchange offers, bank promotions, clearance pricing and stock can change the amount a buyer actually pays. Samsung’s Galaxy A56 buying page and Galaxy A36 buying page are the appropriate places to check current availability and pricing, but dynamic store pages may show location-specific or promotional figures.
Samsung describes the phones as IP67-rated rather than waterproof. That protection applies under defined conditions and can diminish with wear. Specifications, colours and availability may also vary by market or model.
