RRC South Eastern Railway (SER) Act Apprentice registration is not open as of 8 October 2026. The 2025–26 application window ran from 18 November to 17 December 2025, closing at 17:00. The often-cited 1,785 training slots belong to the separate 2024–25 cycle, not a current application drive. SER has since listed shortlist and document-verification updates for 2025–26; check its official notice board for the latest status.

Is RRC SER Apprentice registration open?

No. The application period in SER’s 2025–26 Act Apprentice notification ended at 17:00 on 17 December 2025. That notification specified online applications only; do not treat an old application link as active. SER’s notice board later listed shortlist and document-verification developments for the same cycle, so applicants awaiting an outcome should consult those official updates rather than look for a new registration form.

What does the 1,785-post figure refer to?

The figure refers to 1,785 training slots in SER’s 2024–25 Act Apprentice cycle. A SER select-list notice dated 5 February 2025 tied those slots to a notification published on 28 November 2024. They are not the number of posts in the closed 2025–26 application window, and they do not indicate that registration has reopened.

Eligibility in the closed 2025–26 notification

The following requirements are historical reference for the 2025–26 cycle, not an invitation to apply now:

  • Education: Matriculation or 10th pass from a recognized board with at least 50% aggregate marks, excluding additional subjects, plus an ITI pass certificate in the relevant apprenticeship trade from NCVT or SCVT.
  • Age: At least 15 and under 24 years old as of 1 January 2026. The notification stated upper-age relaxation of five years for SC/ST candidates, three years for OBC candidates and ten years for PwBD candidates; ex-servicemen were subject to additional conditions in the notice.
  • Fee: ₹100, non-refundable. The notice exempted SC/ST, PwBD and women candidates.

How selection worked

For 2025–26, selection was based on trade-wise merit calculated from matriculation marks, not a competitive written test. Where marks tied, the stated rules prioritized the older candidate and then the earlier matriculation pass date. Shortlisted candidates were called for document verification; final engagement was conditional on verification of original documents and medical fitness.

Where to check for the next update

Use SER’s official notice board to check for later notices, including any new apprentice notification or updates to the 2025–26 process. A new registration window, post count, eligibility rule or application deadline should be treated as current only when confirmed in a subsequent official notification.
