Scroll reported December 27, 2024, as the deadline to apply for the SER apprentice recruitment. That date has passed, so candidates cannot apply now under that notice. Scroll’s announcement is the source for the deadline.
SER’s official selection-list document refers to a 2024–25 centralized notification published on November 28, 2024, and confirms that it covered 1,785 slots. The figure is a total for that recruitment, not a current vacancy count. SER’s official site
What is known—and not confirmed—about the 1,785 slots?
The official selection-list document supports the total of 1,785 slots. The original 2024–25 notification is not available among the verified sources here, so the trade-wise vacancy breakdown, eligibility conditions, application fee, and selection terms for that cycle cannot be stated reliably. Do not assume those details match a later SER apprentice notice.
Did SER open another apprentice cycle?
Yes. SER’s separate 2025–26 Act Apprentice notice opened applications on November 18, 2025, and closed them on December 17, 2025, at 17:00. That application window is also closed. 2025–26 eligibility and selection terms
The following requirements apply only to the 2025–26 notice; they should not be treated as the terms of the 2024–25 recruitment:
- Age: Applicants had to be 15 and under 24 years old as of January 1, 2026. The notice provided upper-age relaxation for SC/ST, OBC, persons with disabilities, and eligible ex-servicemen.
- Education and trade qualification: Applicants needed Class 10 from a recognized board with at least 50% aggregate marks, excluding additional subjects, and an NCVT/SCVT ITI pass certificate in the trade sought.
- Fee: The non-refundable application fee was ₹100. SC, ST, PwD, and women candidates were exempt; the notice specified online payment methods.
- Selection: Candidates were ranked on trade-wise merit lists based on Class 10 marks. The notice said all subjects counted when calculating the percentage.
What applicants should do now
Neither cycle’s application window is open. Check SER’s official notice board for any new apprentice notification and read that cycle’s notice before relying on dates, eligibility, fees, or selection rules. A past notice or a confirmed slot total is not evidence that a fresh application round has begun.
