The Railway Recruitment Board’s FAQ set the window from October 2 at 12:01 a.m. through October 16 at 11:59 p.m. (official FAQ), so the “closes today” notice is historical, not a current opportunity to apply at rrbapply.gov.in.
When did the RRB Technician 2024 registration window close?
The Railway Recruitment Board’s FAQ for CEN 02/2024 states that the reopened Technician Grade III application window opened on October 2, 2024, at 00:01 and closed on October 16, 2024, at 23:59. The FAQ was published October 1, 2024, and applied under Corrigendum/Addendum No. 2. (official FAQ)
That deadline passed nearly two years ago. The 2024 registration opportunity is over; rrbapply.gov.in should not be treated as an open application portal for this recruitment cycle.
Could applicants still make changes after registration closed?
The FAQ listed an application modification window from October 17 through October 21, 2024. Eligible existing candidates who had paid could use the specified facility to change their RRB and add or modify Technician Grade III post preferences. (official FAQ)

The FAQ also warned existing candidates not to submit a new application: multiple applications would be rejected. This was a limited modification facility after the deadline, not an extension for new applications.
Who was eligible to apply during the reopened window?
Applicants had to possess the educational or technical qualification required for the relevant post by October 16, 2024. Candidates waiting for the final result of the prescribed qualification were not eligible. Post-specific requirements were set out in the original notice and corrigendum annexures. The reopened window described here was specifically for Technician Grade III. The applicable notice and annexures control eligibility and post details; the FAQ directs candidates to Annexure B-2 of Corrigendum/Addendum No. 2 for the revised vacancy distribution. Do not rely on an unverified vacancy total.

The recruitment proceeded beyond registration. The RRB Bhubaneswar archive lists the Grade III CBT result and shortlisting for document verification and medical examination on March 19, 2025, and a sixth and final provisional panel for various Grade III posts on December 10, 2025. What should you do if you missed the deadline?
- Do not submit a new application for the closed 2024 Grade III window.
- For a submitted application or result, consult the official RRB notice and candidate account associated with your application.
- For a future recruitment, check the relevant RRB’s official notification for its own dates, qualifications, and application instructions; dates from CEN 02/2024 do not carry over.
