What happened in the RPSC AE recruitment 2024?
RPSC’s advertisement dated 5 August 2024 announced 1,014 Assistant Engineer posts under the Assistant Engineer Combined Competitive Examination 2024. The Rajasthan government employment bulletin reported an online application period from 14 August through 12 September 2024, with applications submitted through the RPSC portal using One Time Registration. That deadline has passed; the recruitment should not be treated as open unless RPSC publishes a new notice.
What is the recruitment’s current status?
RPSC’s listings include a result preamble for candidates qualified for interview dated 25 June 2025, as well as later examination-related notices and marks listings. This indicates that the process had moved beyond the preliminary and main examinations by that date. It does not, by itself, confirm final appointments for every advertised vacancy. Check the RPSC official website for the latest notices and any final result or appointment updates.

How was the RPSC AE exam structured?
Preliminary examination
The preliminary examination was an objective screening stage with two papers, each carrying 200 marks and lasting two hours. One paper was compulsory General Knowledge and General Science, including Rajasthan-related knowledge. The other was an optional engineering paper in the candidate’s branch: Civil, Electrical, Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering. The scheme states that preliminary marks do not count toward final merit; candidates qualify for the main examination based on the prescribed vacancy multiple, including candidates tied at the cutoff.
Main examination
The main examination used conventional written papers. Candidates took two compulsory papers—Hindi and Social Aspects of Engineering—and two papers in one chosen engineering optional. Each paper had a three-hour time allowance. The official scheme assigns 100 marks to each of the two compulsory papers and sets out the optional-paper structure by branch.
For exact paper requirements, marks and rules, use RPSC’s official examination scheme and syllabus listings; do not rely on an unofficial summary where the scheme itself is available.

RPSC’s Previous Question Papers listing records preliminary papers released on 7 October 2025 for Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Agriculture Engineering, along with General Knowledge and Science. Start preparation with the official scheme and the papers for the branch relevant to the candidate, rather than assuming materials for another branch are interchangeable. When comparing a guide or practice resource, check that it covers the correct branch, follows the official scheme, includes solved past papers if needed, and is current enough for the examination rules being followed. The official scheme and question papers are available free from RPSC; a paid guide is not established as a requirement.

The available official scheme and listings do not establish those detailed terms, and the advertisement copy cited above is an archived copy hosted outside RPSC.
- Confirm that the degree and engineering branch meet the wording in the relevant post’s official advertisement.
- Calculate age using the precise cutoff date and rules specified there, including any applicable relaxation.
- Check category documentation, fee provisions and any corrigendum before relying on an older summary.
These checks apply if RPSC announces another recruitment as well: eligibility and application terms must come from that new notice, not be carried forward from the 2024 process.
