Roger Moore’s net worth when he died has not been verified in the sources available. Two secondary reports offer markedly different estimates: A$158 million (US$110 million) and £80 million. Neither cites an audited financial statement or final probate valuation, so neither should be treated as an official figure.

What was Roger Moore’s net worth when he died?

Realestate.com.au reported an estimated net worth of A$158 million (US$110 million) at Moore’s death in its 2026 article. A separate article from the Law Offices of DuPont and Blumenstiel, last reviewed in 2025, said he was believed to be worth £80 million. These are different estimates, reported in different currencies and without a shared methodology; converting or averaging them would imply a precision the sources do not support.

Neither report points to an audited balance sheet or a final probate valuation. The law-office article also said probate had not been declared as of its 2025 review. That is the article’s statement, not confirmation from a probate-register search. The available figures therefore do not establish Moore’s final estate value or the amount ultimately distributed to heirs.

What do the two estimates include?

Source and date Reported amount What the source says Primary financial or probate record cited?
Realestate.com.au, 2026 A$158 million (US$110 million) Estimated net worth at death No audited balance sheet or final probate valuation is identified.
Law Offices of DuPont and Blumenstiel, reviewed in 2025 £80 million Believed net worth at death; the article says £30 million was tied up in properties, including residences in Monte Carlo, Eaton Square in London, and Crans-Montana No final probate valuation is identified.

Net worth is not the same as gross career earnings, the value of a particular property, or the value of an estate before debts and other liabilities. The sources do not provide enough information to reconcile those categories or determine how either estimate was calculated.

How much did Roger Moore earn as James Bond?

Realestate.com.au reported total Bond earnings of A$35 million (US$24.3 million) and said Moore’s per-film salary rose from A$1.5 million (US$1 million) to A$10.8 million (US$7.5 million). These are the article’s reported estimates, not independently verified contract figures or a complete accounting of Moore’s income. They should not be added to either net-worth estimate: career earnings and net worth measure different things.

The British Film Institute (BFI) records seven Bond appearances, beginning with Live and Let Die in 1973 and ending with A View to a Kill in 1985, after which Moore retired from the role. His career also included The Saint and The Persuaders!, so Bond salary estimates alone cannot describe all his earnings.

What Moore’s own accounts can—and cannot—tell you

Moore’s 2008 autobiography, My Word Is My Bond, is a source for his account of his working life, not a verified statement of his wealth. The BFI identifies the book and its publication year. The Guardian obituary noted that the autobiography repeatedly used variations of the line “a rather nice deal was agreed with my agent,” but that anecdote does not document his total income or assets.

The Guardian also reported that Moore left Britain in the late 1970s to avoid what he considered high tax rates and had homes in Switzerland and Monaco. This describes the obituary’s account of his views and circumstances; it is not a tax analysis or a complete financial record. In a 2014 interview with the Guardian, Moore said, “The knighthood for my humanitarian work meant more than if it had been for my acting.”

What can be concluded about Moore’s wealth?

  • There is no verified net-worth figure in the cited material.
  • The A$158 million (US$110 million) figure and the £80 million figure are separate secondary estimates, not official valuations.
  • The reported Bond earnings and salary figures are estimates from the same 2026 real-estate article, not verified contract or lifetime-income records.
  • The available sources do not establish a final estate value, probate outcome, or distribution.
