What is known about the Rogers BYOP discount?
MobileSyrup reported on November 23, 2023, that Rogers had introduced a $10-per-month discount for customers bringing their own phones. The report’s detailed eligibility terms could not be verified, so it does not establish which plans or regions qualified, when the offer ended, whether it applied to new or existing lines, or whether the promotion is still available. How is the Automatic Payments discount different?
Rogers’ accessible legal terms describe a $10-per-month discount on eligible in-market consumer Rogers Infinite and 5G mobile plans when a customer sets up Automatic Payments. The terms say the discount is not retroactive and ends if the customer cancels Automatic Payments or moves to an ineligible plan. What to confirm before choosing a plan
Because the reported BYOP offer’s current terms are not established, check the current offer shown by Rogers before relying on a lower monthly price. Confirm these details in writing or in the offer summary:
- The service price after discounts, and which plan and region qualify.
- Whether the $10 credit is recurring, when it starts, and how long it lasts.
- Whether you must activate a new line or can apply the offer to an existing line.
- Any payment-method requirement and whether changing plans ends the credit.
Do not treat a general BYOP label, an older promotion, or the Automatic Payments discount as proof that the BYOP-specific credit applies to your account.

Check the phone before bringing it
Make sure the phone is unlocked and compatible with the service. For 5G or 5G+ access, Rogers specifies that customers need a compatible device, a 5G SIM card, and coverage in their area.
