The West Australian reported in February 2023 that Reza ‘Huss’ Husseini’s TikTok videos had drawn more than one billion views and thousands of fan donations. But although the story’s headline described thousands of dollars a week, Husseini did not disclose an exact income: he told the newspaper only that he had “made some money.” The figures are the outlet’s reporting, not independently audited earnings or platform statistics.
What The West Australian reported about his TikTok activity
In a report published on 27 February 2023, The West Australian said Husseini posted TikTok clips and collaborated on videos with TikTok personality Jenny Elhassan. The newspaper reported that his videos had received more than one billion views and that fans had made thousands of donations.
The report did not provide an independent platform audit, a measurement method for the view count, a transaction dataset for donations, or a total donation value. Those numbers should therefore be read as figures reported by the newspaper, not verified account analytics or a complete financial record.
How much money did he make?
The article’s headline and opening characterized Husseini as making thousands of dollars a week. In the body, however, he declined to say exactly how much he had earned, telling the outlet only that he had “made some money.” The accessible report does not establish a verified weekly income or total earnings, and it does not show audited TikTok payments or donation records.

What the 2023 report said about detention
The West Australian reported that Husseini had been at Yongah Hill immigration detention centre near Northam since 2021, after leaving a New South Wales prison where, according to the newspaper, he had served five years for a 2016 stabbing at a Merrylands cafe. The article said he arrived in Australia by boat from Iran and was awaiting a decision on his immigration situation.
