Resemble AI announced on December 7, 2025, that it raised $13 million in strategic funding, bringing its reported total venture funding to $25 million. The company said it will use the money to expand globally and develop its AI detection platform, enterprise software and API tools intended to identify synthetic or manipulated audio, video and images.

What Resemble AI announced

In its December 7, 2025 funding announcement, Resemble AI said the strategic round brought its total venture funding to $25 million. The company named Google’s AI Future Fund, Okta Ventures, Taiwania Capital, Gentree Fund, IAG Capital Partners, Berkeley Frontier Fund and KDDI as investors. It said the capital would support global expansion and continued development of its detection platform.

The announcement does not provide a breakdown of how much each investor contributed or specify a timetable for the expansion. It describes the round as strategic funding; it does not establish additional terms such as valuation or ownership stakes.

What the company’s detection platform does

Resemble AI’s current materials describe detection for audio, video and images. The company presents the service as returning a verdict alongside forensic context to help organizations assess whether media may be synthetic or manipulated. It offers API and integration options, as well as cloud and on-premises deployment, according to its product materials and Detect page.

Financial-sector use cases

The company’s financial-sector page describes potential workflows involving live calls and meetings, audit-oriented reports, on-premises deployment and SIEM integration. Those capabilities position the product for organizational fraud and security operations; they do not amount to a guarantee that any particular call, transaction or item of media will be correctly identified.

How the company says its strategy evolved

In an August 13, 2026 article, CEO Zohaib Ahmed described a strategic shift from voice generation toward detection. Ahmed said the company’s experience building voice models helps it identify synthetic voices, and that it expanded the detection offering to video and images. This is the CEO’s account of the company’s strategy, not an independent assessment of detection performance. Read Ahmed’s account.

What the accuracy and threat figures do—and do not—show

Resemble AI’s product page advertises “up to 99.5%” detection accuracy and testing against more than 250 generative AI models. These are the vendor’s claims. The published materials cited here do not establish the test set, operating conditions, benchmark design or comparative performance needed to interpret those figures as a guaranteed outcome for a customer’s content. Results from a detector can depend on the media, the model used to generate or alter it, and the conditions under which it is evaluated. See the company’s product claims.

The funding announcement also cites $1.56 billion in deepfake-related fraud losses in 2025 and a forecast of up to $40 billion in U.S. fraud losses associated with generative AI by 2027. These are figures presented by Resemble AI; the announcement does not establish their original publishers or underlying methodology. They should not be treated as independently verified loss totals or forecasts without confirmation from those underlying sources. See the figures in the announcement.

What the funding means for organizations evaluating the product

The announcement signals that Resemble AI plans to invest in product development and international reach. It does not, by itself, establish that the platform is more accurate than alternatives, that it is available in every market, or that an organization’s data will be handled in a particular way. Buyers evaluating synthetic-media detection should seek answers specific to their workflow:

  • Coverage: Which media types, languages, formats and attack scenarios are supported for the intended use?
  • Evidence: What forensic context accompanies a verdict, and can the result be reviewed or retained for audit purposes?
  • Deployment and data controls: Which cloud or on-premises options are available, and what are the applicable retention and access policies?
  • Workflow fit: Can the service process live calls or meetings, submitted files, or both, and does it integrate with existing identity, fraud and SIEM systems?
  • Validation: Are benchmark methods, test conditions and independently reproducible results available for the organization’s own media and threat model?

What remains unclear about the announcement

A separate Resemble AI LinkedIn post surfaced with an investor list that also included Sony Innovation Fund and individual investors. The two rosters do not match, and the discrepancy is unresolved. The dated funding announcement names the investors listed above; the available materials do not explain whether the other post reflects a different scope or update.
