The office is in New Westminster, a city in the Greater Vancouver area. Remitly described it as its first office in the region in its August 6, 2024 announcement.
Why did Remitly open the office?
Remitly said the office would support product development across priority areas of its business. The company described it as a growing “center of excellence” and said it was actively hiring engineering talent at the time of the announcement.
How large was the office?
Contemporaneous reporting by GeekWire put the office at 3,600 square feet, with capacity for up to 35 employees. Those figures describe the reported space and its capacity at the time; they do not establish how many people work there now. See GeekWire’s 2024 report.
What is known about the office today?
Remitly’s May 12, 2026 company release retrospectively confirms that it opened a Vancouver-area office in 2024. That release does not give the office’s current staffing level or say whether location-specific hiring is continuing.
