Chapter 11 was the initial filing—not the final form of the case. On July 10, 2024, the court converted the jointly administered cases to Chapter 7 liquidation. George L. Miller was appointed interim trustee on July 11 and later served permanently. A trustee filing states that the debtors had ceased all operations by the conversion. What Redbox operated when it filed
In a June 29, 2024 declaration supporting the bankruptcy filings, company chairman William J. Rouhana Jr. described Redbox as operating approximately 24,000 DVD rental kiosks across the United States, along with a free, ad-supported live-TV service and transactional video-on-demand. The kiosk figure is a filing-era estimate from the company’s declaration; it is not a current kiosk count. Chairman’s June 29, 2024 declaration

Is the Redbox bankruptcy over?
No final end to the bankruptcy litigation is established by the cited court materials. The September 2, 2026 opinion was a procedural ruling on motions to dismiss, not a final decision on every allegation. The opinion explains that complaint allegations were treated as true only for deciding those motions; they should not be read as judicial findings. The Delaware Bankruptcy Court’s opinions index also lists the September 2 opinion and identifies the case and judge. Delaware Bankruptcy Court opinions index
The public docket listing showed additional activity into October 2026, but it is not a substitute for the official docket. Hearing schedules and case developments can change, so consult the public docket listing and official court records for later updates.
