Reading FC board member Rick Catania said the club had received approaches ranging from interest in shares to an offer to buy the whole club, and that one offer had been turned down, according to a 10 February 2026 report by Greatest Hits Radio/Radio Berkshire. The report did not name the bidder or disclose a price or terms. It does not confirm a new sale.
What was reported about the latest Reading FC approach?
Catania’s comments, as reported by Greatest Hits Radio/Radio Berkshire, describe more than one kind of approach: interest in shares and an offer to buy the club outright. The station reported that an offer had been rejected. It did not say which approach was turned down, who made it, what stake was involved, or what conditions were attached.
That leaves the key deal details unknown. There are no disclosed figures or public terms to support a comparison of bidders or valuations, and the report does not establish that Reading FC is currently for sale or that negotiations have produced an agreement.
Has Reading FC been sold again?
No second sale is confirmed in the cited reporting. The February 2026 story concerns approaches and a rejected offer, not a completed transaction.

The previous takeover was a separate deal. On 3 May 2025, Reading FC announced a sale in principle to Redwood Holdings Limited, saying the transaction included the Select Car Leasing Stadium and Bearwood Park Training Ground. The club’s statement said: “Reading Football Club is pleased to announce the sale in principle of the club to Redwood Holdings Limited.” BBC subsequently reported that Rob Couhig completed the takeover in May 2025 and identified Todd Trosclair as a co-owner.
What is known about the stadium, training ground and academy?
The 2025 sale-in-principle announcement included the Select Car Leasing Stadium and Bearwood Park Training Ground. The February 2026 report does not disclose whether any later approach concerned either asset or whether ownership of them would change.
