The Local Self Government Department (LSGD), Government of Rajasthan, issued Advertisement No. 2/2024 for direct recruitment to 23,820 Safai Karamchari posts across 185 urban local bodies. The notice invited eligible candidates to submit online applications under the Rajasthan Municipalities (Safai Karamchari Service) Rules, 2012. Read the department’s recruitment advertisement.
What were the application dates?
The initial application period ran from 7 October through 6 November 2024. The department subsequently extended the application deadline to 27 November 2024, and opened a correction period from 28 November through 5 December 2024. The extension and correction dates are stated in the department’s official deadline and correction notice.
Both application and correction windows have passed. The 6 November date in the original title refers to the initial deadline, not the final deadline after the official extension.

How did candidates apply under the 2024 notice?
The notice directed applicants to use the LSGD website or Rajasthan SSO and the state Recruitment Portal. The route described for that recruitment was:
- Log in through the department portal or Rajasthan SSO.
- Open Recruitment Portal under the Citizen apps.
- Complete one-time registration (OTR), then follow the online application process for the Safai Karamchari notice.
This describes the 2024 process only; it does not mean the old application form is still available. The department’s original advertisement contains the historical application instructions.

Is a Safai Karamchari application open now?
No application is open under Advertisement No. 2/2024. Rajasthan’s recruitment portal displays a separate 2026 Contractual Safai Karamchari listing. That is a distinct listing, not a continuation of the 2024 direct-recruitment notice.
