The application window for Rajasthan’s 23,820-post Safai Karamchari recruitment is closed. The original deadline was 6 November 2024, and later extensions reported by Scroll moved it first to 20 November and then to 27 November 2024. The phrase “closes today” refers to the dated 2024 coverage, not a live deadline in October 2026.
When did applications close for the 23,820 posts?
The Local Self Government Department, Government of Rajasthan, advertised 23,820 vacancies across 185 urban local bodies under Advertisement No. 2/2024. Its detailed advertisement, dated 27 September 2024, originally set the online application period from 7 October through 6 November 2024, ending at 23:59. Read the official Advertisement No. 2/2024.
That was not the final deadline reported to applicants. Scroll reported the following schedule changes:
- Original schedule: Applications through 6 November 2024, according to the department’s advertisement.
- First reported extension: Scroll reported on 20 November 2024 that applications were due that day; it said corrections could be made through 25 November for a fee. Read Scroll’s 20 November report.
- Later extension: Scroll reported on 27 November 2024 that applications would be accepted through 27 November, with corrections from 28 November through 5 December. Read Scroll’s 27 November report.
These are historical dates. The official advertisement establishes the initial schedule, while the later dates are documented in the dated Scroll reports.

Is the Rajasthan Safai Karamchari application open now?
No: the 23,820-post campaign was the 2024 recruitment, and its last reported application date was 27 November 2024. It should not be described as open today.
The Rajasthan Recruitment Portal separately displays a listing titled “CONTRACTUAL SAFAI KARAMCHARI – 2026.” That is a different recruitment reference, not evidence that the 2024 application has reopened. The listing’s full terms and the meaning of the displayed 13 October 2026 date are not established here. Check the Rajasthan Recruitment Portal and open the current official notice before relying on any dates or applying.
