Is the 24,797-post recruitment still open?
No. The application period for Advertisement No. 1/2024 ended on March 24, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. The notice also set a correction window from March 27 through April 2, 2024; that period has passed as well. The 24,797 vacancies were distributed across 186 urban local bodies.
For a newer opportunity, check the Rajasthan Recruitment Portal and read the notice attached to the specific listing. The portal’s “Contractual Safai Karamchari – 2026” entry is a separate recruitment, not a reopening of Advertisement No. 1/2024. A Times of India report said the 2026 deadline was extended to October 13, 2026, but confirm the current date and application status on the official portal before relying on that report.
What were the 2024 eligibility requirements?
Age
The 2024 summary advertisement set a minimum age of 18 and a maximum age below 40, calculated as of January 1, 2025. Category-based relaxations may apply; consult the official advertisement and its applicable rules rather than assuming an individual age limit.

Domicile and work experience
The detailed notice required Rajasthan domicile and at least one year of regular cleaning-work experience by the application deadline. It covered experience in municipal bodies, government departments or institutions, and other specified workplaces. The detailed notice governs which workplaces and documents qualify, so applicants should not treat every cleaning job or proof of work as automatically eligible.
How the 2024 application process worked
The following describes the procedure for the closed 2024 cycle; it is not an open application route. The detailed advertisement directed applicants to the department’s online application link or Rajasthan SSO, via the Recruitment Portal after one-time registration. Applications could also be completed through designated e-Mitra kiosks or public service centres.
- Open the official Rajasthan Recruitment Portal or the LSG online application link specified in the notice.
- Complete the required one-time registration, or use the Rajasthan SSO route provided for the recruitment.
- Open the Safai Karamchari recruitment form and provide the requested details and supporting information.
- Submit the application within the notice’s March 4–24, 2024 window. That deadline has passed.
- Retain the generated Application ID. The notice identified it as evidence that the form had been submitted.
How selection was to take place
The detailed 2024 advertisement said selection for local-body vacancies would be conducted at the local-body level using a lottery process and a practical examination. That description is the method stated in the notice; it does not by itself establish later results or the current status of any individual application.

For the historical eligibility rules, age cutoff, acceptable experience evidence, and application instructions, rely on the Department of Local Self Government’s Advertisement No. 1/2024 and detailed advertisement. For any current recruitment, use the state’s official Recruitment Portal and follow the notice linked to that cycle. Do not carry the 2024 post count or eligibility details over to a newer listing unless its own notice confirms them.
