Interesting Football’s August 2025 list disagrees and places Steve Cook first at £30,000 a week. Neither figure is an official QPR disclosure. Both are publisher estimates, and the two lists cannot be reconciled from the information they publish.
The 2025/26 top 10 on SalaryLeaks
SalaryLeaks publishes a QPR wage table for each season. Its 2025/26 page is the most complete list for that season, and it is the basis for the ranking below. The table shows the weekly amounts it estimates for each player, and it gives a tie at £12,000 that makes the tenth place unclear.
| Position | Player | Estimated weekly wage (SalaryLeaks, 2025/26) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Jimmy Dunne | £27,000 (about £1.4 million a year, SalaryLeaks’ conversion) |
| 2 | Rhys Norrington-Davies | £25,000 |
| 3 | Koki Saito | £23,000 |
| 4 | Steve Cook | £20,000 |
| 5 | Isaac Hayden | £15,000 |
| 6 | Nicolas Madsen | £14,000 |
| 7–11 (tied) | Ilias Chair, Richard Kone, Harvey Vale, Amadou Mbengue, Jonathan Varane | £12,000 each |
The source lists the five players on £12,000 as one group. A straight top 10 therefore cannot be produced without splitting that tie, and any ranking that names a single tenth-place player is adding a distinction the table does not make. The full table is on the SalaryLeaks QPR 2025/26 page.
How the August 2025 Interesting Football list differs
Interesting Football’s August 2025 QPR player list reports a different order at the top. Its figures for the leading players are:
#1 Best Overall
- Official QPR FC men's home soccer jersey for the 2026-27 season by Errea.
- Woven club badge and Errea logo
- Mens actual sizes are as follows (to the nearest inch); Small - chest 40", length 27";...... Medium- chest 42", length 28";...... Large - chest 44", length 29";...... X-Large - chest 46", length 30";...... XX-Large - chest 48", length 31"
- Steve Cook: £30,000 a week, first on that list.
- Taylor Richards: £15,000 a week.
- Morgan Fox, Michael Frey and Jack Colback: £15,000 a week each.
The two lists disagree on Steve Cook alone by £10,000 a week (£20,000 on SalaryLeaks against £30,000 on Interesting Football), and their orderings differ throughout. Interesting Football does not explain how it reached its amounts, so there is no way to tell whether the gap reflects a different date, a different treatment of bonuses, or simply a different estimate. The two tables should be read side by side as evidence of disagreement, not merged into one ranking.
How much weight the figures can bear
Every figure above is a publisher’s estimate of a player’s pay, not a confirmed contract amount. Several points follow from that:

- Verification is per entry. SalaryLeaks says it compiles its data from credible public reports and marks some entries as verified, which it describes as reporting by trusted journalists or reputable media covering Championship clubs. Nothing in the 2025/26 table establishes that every listed salary carries that mark, so the site’s general description should not be read as a guarantee for all ten names.
- Totals are estimates too. In a 2026 update to the same page, SalaryLeaks gives an estimated £15.2 million for the first-team squad, including bonuses. That is a publisher total, not a club accounts figure, and the page does not show how individual amounts were built up.
- Bonuses and loans are not clearly handled. Neither list states whether its weekly amounts include appearance or performance bonuses, or how loan players are treated. Two lists that handle these differently can disagree without either being careless.
- No official QPR ranking was identified. The club does not publish an individual wage ranking that these lists can be checked against. If QPR or its board later confirms specific salaries, those confirmations should replace the estimates above.
Later lists for 2026/27 are a different season
As of October 2026, the 2026/27 season is under way, and newer lists exist. They should not be mixed into the 2025/26 ranking, and they also disagree with each other:
- SalaryLeaks, 2026/27: its current QPR page names Pierce Charles as the leading earner at an estimated £30,000 a week.
- Interesting Football, February 2026: its 2026/27 QPR wages post leads with Tariq Lamptey at £35,000 a week. That article contains internal inconsistencies and garbled salary wording in places, so its individual figures should be checked against another source before they are repeated.

Rank #3

- Season: confirm whether the table is for 2025/26, 2026/27 or another period. Lists for different seasons are not comparable.
- Publisher and date: note which site published it and when it was last updated. Salary pages change as new reports emerge.
- Estimated or reported: check whether the publisher labels a figure as an estimate, a verified report or a club confirmation.
- Scope: check whether amounts include bonuses and how loan players and tied positions are handled.
Applying those checks to the 2025/26 material gives a clear answer on what is known: SalaryLeaks’ estimate puts Jimmy Dunne first at £27,000 a week, Interesting Football’s August 2025 estimate puts Steve Cook first at £30,000 a week, and neither is confirmed by QPR.
